I still feel like Barca has yet to really turn on their attacking game. To me it seems they make it look so easy when they want to score. Pedro has not impressed me at all this season. Suarez should start on Saturday

Pique is buns. Dude needs to be relegated to Copa del Rey matches if that. Bartra was caught flat footed on that Ajax goal. He needs to step it up consistently if he wants to get more starts. I like the pairing of Bartra and Mathieu for el clasico but would bet it is Masche/Mathieu with Sergi at DM

Pique hasn't been playing the majority of la Liga where they haven't conceded. They conceded 4 in two cl matches with pique on the pitch. His head just isn't in it. He tries to play out of dangerous situations and gets caught out often unnecessarily. Ajax wasn't very clinical in the attacking third. I can't see a dangerous attacking team like Real not punishing mistakes

So if Sergi is out then I'm really hoping for Bartra and Mathieu in central defense with Masche holding mid

Pique's third fine came from breaking curfew about a week or 2 ago.

I know you dislike his character but pique was the glue that held that back line together for the last Cl trophy.. puyol, abidal were both in the down slope already and mash was still trying to fit into his new role. Pique has always been inconsistent even back in Barca's historic run. His pattern was that he showed up great in most big games & then mail it in in other games. You could almost say for every good game he plays, he tanks the next 3.

Pep benched him for key games here & there in '11 & then benched him even more in '12. It came to a crescendo when Pique was benched for a CL game against Leverkusen back in '12.

Pique along with Alves & Cesc were among the players Pep was rumored to strongly want to get rid of before calling it quits at Camp Nou...
