The Memphis bidding war is slowly shaping up to be reminiscent of the Hazard saga :lol :x . I'm expecting a restless summer during the transfer window with all the transfer bans coming 8o

Apparently Levy wants a world record transfer sum for Lloris,go figure :lol :rolleyes
I honestly see him coming to Liverpool. Liverpool better pay that money.

I wasn't paying attention to the Hazard saga then, was it really that out of bounds?

He or his agent was flirting with just about all the top EPL teams while he was still at Lille. He was showing up at the Manchester derby,talking up clubs and dropping cryptic tweets to troll everyone it seemed. Everyone from Spurs to Citeh and MU were reported as favorites at one point :lol. He finally made his choice known after the Blues won the CL :{

You already know the deal with Bale though :lol, the best British player will be paid as the best in the world.

As far as I understand, it doesn't matter whether or not they have a passport. You can read the fifa rule, article 19 in this official fifa pdf.

http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/aff...e_status_and_transfer_of_players_en_33410.pdf

I think he's good since his dad moved to germany with him, this article goes into more detail.

His father moving there specifically violates artile 19, "The player’s parents move to the country in which the new club is
located for reasons not linked to football.."

^ The current Bayern home shirt is one of favorites too.

BTW, the Spanish government has decreed a new TV deal for La Liga that enfure more money is shared among the clubs. Barca & Madrid will still get larger shares but the new deal is a lot more equatable than the old tv deal.

New TV deal ends Barcelona and Real Madrid monopoly

Spain's two biggest teams will no longer have the lion's share of the money after a new agreement over broadcasting rights was agreed.

Real Madrid and Barcelona will no longer monopolize the television money in Spain after a new deal was announced Thursday.

Spain's two biggest clubs have negotiated their own agreements for the sale of broadcasting rights in recent years, giving them a huge advantage over the rest of the teams in La Liga, but that trend will now end after the Spanish government gave the green light for a new deal to be brought in.

Barca and Madrid (who were receiving 150 million euros per year - three times the amount earned by other clubs in the Primera Division) will no longer be able to sell television rights individually, with a new centralized system spreading the wealth throughout the top flight.

The new deal sees 50 percent of the share distributed equally between all 20 Liga teams, with the other 50% determined by other criteria, such as league position in the previous five seasons, capacity to generate funds through broadcasting and social relevance.

It means Madrid and Barca will continue to earn more than the rest, but only because they are the two biggest, most popular and most successful sides in the country - and the new agreement is the fair deal other clubs in Spain have been calling for over the last few years.

"This Royal Decree aims to end the enormous imbalance of income," Spain's Culture and Sports Minister Jose Ignacio Wert said after the agreement was announced Thursday.

And Miguel Cardenal, Secretary of State for Sport, added in a statement: "It was necessary. This way, Spain won't lose ground on the other great leagues. It's a historic day for Spanish football."

Finally, LFP president Javier Tebas said: "A new league is born. This was necessary for the development and growth of our sector. A new story begins for Spanish professional football."

Wonder if the new la liga TV deal will help Spanish clubs from having to sell their players to English clubs

Hopefully it allows for more parity throughout the league

Maybe teams like Valencia, Sevilla, and Villarreal will be able to challenge for the cup

Wouldn't get that far ahead lol. Just hoping the other teams can now have that extra player or 2 in their starting XI to make for an even better product.

Can we just get La Liga games on a normal sports network so i don't have to pay extra for BeIn sports. ESPN Deportes? Fox Sports 1? something. I don't even care if we have english announcers call the games. I just want to not have to try to illegally stream all the Real Games :lol

@PortuBall Valencia owner Peter Lim is considering to invest in Rio Ave, with the help of his new best friend Jorge Mendes. [Record]
Peter Lim intends to give Rio Ave a new sporting and financial dimension and fight for top spots in Portugal. [Record]
Speaking of the two best friends, Peter Lim and Jorge Mendes, they've been discussing Nico Gaitán and João Cancelo lately. [Record]
Lim wants to bring Gaitán and João Cancelo to Valencia, who have a €15m otb on Cancelo. Gaitán won't leave for less than €35m. [Record]
And as always when Nico Gaitán is mentioned, Record reports Man United are keeping tabs on him. Moncao interested, too.
Benfica wants to bring Ederson and Diego Lopes from Rio Ave to Lisbon this summer. Both extremely talented. [Record]
Diego Lopes(Benfica home grown) has evolved massively after leaving Benfica two years ago and Benfica need keeper(s), too. Makes sense.

Vela beautiful FK goal for the Mexicans here

I hope in a few years La Liga can make its way to the states but I think it will be really tough for them to fit in a major network here.

With Fox getting the Bundesliga next fall, my question is, what other networks can even broadcast La Liga respectably? NBC does an exceptional job with the BPL. I can't see Fox match NBC with their production but I'm glad we actually get to view Bundesliga games now.

I doubt ESPN will even want to try since most La Liga games will be on the same time as day time College Football games. I don't see where La Liga can fit into any other major US networks honestly.
