Good signing for us. Strengthen up our soft back line what's been killing us all year. Actually every year
We can finally not have Okugo playing center back! :hat Shows how things our backline is when 2 CBs go down and the only option is a midfielder.

Paulson said there might be another signing tomorrow 8o

Basti being put out to the pasture like that....just cut him loose he deserves that much respect at least

Hope somebody comes in for the guy before window closes

to be fair, he's played CB at times in his career... but ya probs not ideal to have him on your backline

Had a bad feeling it would come to this :{

How Fro is deemed useful and he isn't beats me :{

Sad to see my guy schweini getting treated like this. He don't deserve to go out like this :(

I was excited for him because he was getting love going to another big club to finish his career but damn, they ain't putting no type of respek on his name.

First Pep, now Jose.

If he were more fit, I feel he could play a huge role on any team. But his body ain't what it used to be

I saw that earlier and still dont believe it :eek :rollin

Wasn't he playing in Miami as recently as this year?

La Liga's attendence isn't as bad as people think nor do Barca or Real's numbers skew that much... This was 2013's numbers. I couldn't find a more recent chart...

I was more trying to make the point that Liga MX, Chinese Super League, and MLS attendance is better than people think, and that if you removed Barca and Real, the numbers put La Liga in roughly the same group.  Year-to-year data is available on transfermarkt.com

I don't know how  we can claim that La Liga's average attendance isn't heavily skewed by Barca and Real. Those two clubs skew average league attendance figures more than any other two clubs in the world by far.

Average La Liga attendance with Barca and Real is 27,904 significantly more than Liga MX.

Removed Real and Barca from the equation and replaced them with two hypothetical clubs drawing average league attendance and it drops the La Liga average all the way 22,891 which is well behind Liga MX and about dead even with Chinese Super League.

If you were to substitute Barca and Real with two hypothetical clubs who each managed to draw 3rd ranked Atleti's attendance figures, then La Liga average attendance still drops to 24,922, putting it about even with Liga MX.

That's pretty much a textbook example of a data point skewing the mean.

Wonder where he's headed to now...8o

Watch it be NY or some other American city again :lol

It's been really quiet on that front today, surprisingly.

In other news, Jonathon Calleri has confirmed that he will sign for West Ham, although it's yet to be confirmed whether it's a loan or permanent.

@GFFN:
Pogba currently thought to be on a plane as we speak to head to the Big Apple. Likely to be where his US holidays end...

Knew it :lol,hopefully it's just a quick stopover...8o

MLS doubles expansion fees for new franchises, will top $200 million
By Caitlin MurrayFOX Soccer @caitlinmurr

For cities that want to join Major League Soccer, the cost is going to be considerably higher from now on and expansion fees will almost double.

MLS deputy commissioner Mark Abbott has reportedly told Bloomberg the fees for new expansion teams will now be upwards of $200 million. That is a massive increase from the $110 million Los Angeles FC paid to become the latest expansion team, set to start playing in 2018.

The 20-team MLS is looking to expand to 24 teams in the near term,with Atlanta United joining next year and Minnesota potentially coming next year, too. The league has also been in a drawn-out process of getting a David Beckham-backed Miami franchise. But the league wants to add four more teams for a total of 28 in the long term, with plenty of cities having already stated their interest.

It remains to be seen if the new increased $200 million expansion fee will affect the crop of ownership groups that have been vying to be next in line. Notable candidates include the Sacramento Republic, San Antonio FC and Cincinnati FC of the lower-tier United Soccer League, along with ownership groups in Detroit, San Diego and St. Louis, among others.

Neither Abbott nor commissioner Don Garber have publicly shared a timeline for when the next expansion cities will be named. Sacramento appears to be the closest to being ready, with a high-powered group of investors and plans already in motion to build a soccer-specific stadium near downtown. But Sacramento's sudden and rapid rise in the expansion conversation proves how unpredictable and quick-changing the expansion landscape can be.

MLS is operated as a single-entity organization, which gives the front office unique control over the make-up of the league. But according to Forbes, the average MLS team is now worth $157 million. As of last year, the Seattle Sounders topped the list of MLS franchises with a value of $245 million.
