Visited LA and SD this past summer with a very open mind, but it doesn't come close to NY. The city and people (on average) feel small in comparison. And the homelessness in LA is out of control.
Loved Santa Monica though, Venice was really chill, Beverly Hills was dope, and the diversity of nature in SD is beautiful. Planning on checking out SF next year and I'll def be back to SoCal at some point. Happy memories there. Just can never live there.

I remember the first day I was in LA eating at in n out and some dude pulls out a knife on an employee
but for real though why the hell does this always turn into a burger conversation, one thing NY is not messing with is the taco truck game in SoCal
. We got gyro carts here but I miss the taco trucks. And copping a horchata.

I believe In N Out's hype has skewed the scale in which its being graded on.
IMO In N Out is to be compared H2H with other fast food, specifically with drive thru, type of places.
Fast casual spots, those where you walk in to, are an entirely different category; Shake Shake, 5 Guys, WAB, etc.
