In those clips Scottie and Kenny are acting like guys used to play thru non stop contact and you could just hold guys all game long or for an entire possession. Why would I listen to interviews of guys TALKING about what it was when I can clearly see with my own eyes that they're off base. This is 10 years before the reemphasis on hand checking. MJ doesn't even get touched not once without a foul being called

the Pistons beg to differ.

No one wants to see drake perform at a halftime show. Dude gonna be walking around in football equipment

oh please God NO. the guy has done enough damage butchering Jordans. next thing you know he'd be butchering NFL jerseys.

Yes, I have watched Brewer's video on the topic before.

Of course there will be INSTANCES of players getting away with it today. That wasn't the argument.

The point is the game was reffed differently in the past. If Harper/RObertson (most notorious players from the past the used it) tried that today, they would run into foul troubles.

Please reference Scottie Pippen's explanation.

David Stern definitely wanted to open the game up to promote more scoring.

I didn't exactly play in the NBA but was able to play with old era rules long before and I must say I hated it a lot. can't tell you how many slaps I took on the arms and hands with the refs allowing them to happen. the rules back then were the hands were part of the ball or no blood no foul type of scenario. you can't really whine about it like what players are doing a lot now. that's how we learned to adapt to that style of play like cradling or hiding the ball or warding off just to keep those hands away. from what I could tell, nowadays I get more freedom dribbling the ball without worrying too much about the defender. although sometimes I get into foul trouble by reaching a lot eventhough it was clearly all ball. we couldn't defend much anymore like we used to and personally, it seems like the game now has gone to more offense than defense. thank goodness I'm a good shot.
