He wasn’t lying when he said he wouldn’t be 100 percent again. Doesn’t mean the Lakers won’t win, but a high ankle sprain is a lingering injury if not given a ton of time to heal.
Remember when it happened there was dudes in here talking about he’d be straight in a couple weeks.

High ankles take time. Lots of it.

The Timberwolves might be the dumbest franchise in the league. They're about to cough up a top five pick because they would rather win some meaningless games at the end of the regular season. There's a reason franchises like that never succeed. It's not because they're in a small market, it's because they're poorly run

If they were in the top 3 worst records they'd have a 40% chance of keeping the pick. 4th and 5th worst records have a 34% chance of a top 3 pick. Instead now they have a 28% chance. So overall they lost 12%.

You're overestimating tanking. The new odds hurt the teams with terrible records.

If they ended up losing a bunch of games, they would've given the Warriors a higher chance of getting a better pick.

40% is better than 28% no matter which three ways you try and slice it.

Not disagreeing. Also, decreased the odds of the Warriors getting a super high pick.

They were put in a different situation than other teams who tanked. Because of injuries and Covid their main guys barely played the majority of the year. They needed to have these guys start to play at some point, which unfortunately for them was when other teams shut down their rosters, and they ended up winning games because of it.

Let’s say it’s the 7th or 8th pick and it conveys to GSW...did they ultimately goof if they end up with Wiseman and the 2021 7th pick? Obviously not drafting LaMelo was a mistake but I’m pretty sure they could have gotten something big time for that #2 and the Wolves pick. Can’t remember the rumors, though

So do we talk about the play-in here, the playoff thread or it’s own thread? I think we should discuss. I’ll PM the decision-makers with the Zoom info.
