Bruh either you a Knicks or Brooklyn. Brooklyn mainly being from here. Was never a Knicks fan though. Rocked with my Spurs til 3 yrs ago. Damn since 89 too. Everything comes to a end someday though.

KD don't even talk like this or has a relationship with The Score like that. why would they be saying something like this?
leaning towards fake quote

He said it on a podcast called Boardroom: Out of Office.

The Billups thing wasn't hidden. If you're under 35ish and/or wasn't following sports news like that back then...it may be new to you.

It's just that the news cycle wasn't the same at the time...and nobody cared. It was a blurb that ran across the bottom at the screen on ESPN. Similar situation happened with Juwan Howard/Chris Webber here in the DC Area that was the catalyst for Webber getting sent to Sacramento...but they both ended up winning their cases, with Juwan actually winning a follow up defamation suit.

Billups/Mercer settled. How are we supposed to feel about civil suits and settling out of court? Unless I know what happened (i.e seeing a leaked videotape of the accusation with my own two eyes)...why am I supposed to treat them like they're guilty? That's the same theory that's used to refer to a player that I will not name as a "rapist" isn't it?

The Claim

Billups and others brought the victim to Walker's house after they went to a comedy club. On the drive to Walker's house and especially once there, Billups and others raped the victim orally, vaginally, and anally.

Where There Is Agreement

First, both victim and Billups agree they met at the comedy club.

Second, they also agree that Billups orally penetrated the victim while in the car.

Where They Disagree

First, Billups claims the sex was consensual. The victim obviously does not. Who to believe? Consider:

  • The victim immediately called a friend. This means there is a contemporaneous record supporting her claim. And remember, this is a woman who had been in the NBA sphere for awhile (she dated Walker for months). For her to call a friend immediately after waking up and make this claim is very telling.
  • The rape kit is clearly suggestive of rape. From the police report: rape kit examination revealed injuries to he throat, cervix, and rectum, along with bruising on her back consistent with someone being dragged across a rug. Semen had been retrieved from her vagina.
Second, Billups and one of his co-defendants also deny that they ever went to Walker's house at all. Instead, they claim she went to Billups' house with the victim and performed the "consensual" acts there. Who to believe? Consider:

  • The victim woke up early the next morning at Walker's home with another co-defendant. Billups has no explanation for how she ended up there. So, if he's to be believed, a woman without a car and with no cell phone left his house after having sex with multiple men, somehow ended up at Walker's very, very late at night, only to be raped by someone else.
  • Walker never denies that Billups was at his house or that the rape occurred there. In her lawsuit against him, a District Court judge ruled that it wasn’t clear Walker knew the woman was being assaulted and that he had no obligation under state law to stop the attack. This would explain why Billups didn't want to place himself at the home. He was afraid there was enough proof that rape occurred there.
  • After the attack, Walker sued Billups. While the records of this suit were never revealed, I view this as suspicious and suggestive of him believing the victim (his ex girlfriend) and being upset with Billups.
TL;DR
  • Billups admits to sexual contact, but claims it was consensual.
  • Afterward, the victim immediately called a friend and told her she'd been raped.
  • There was also a rape kit that clearly suggested rape had occurred.
  • Billups distances himself from the rape by claiming he never went to Walker's house. This is highly unlikely. The logistics of his story are almost impossible, and a sealed suit from Walker against Billups suggest he's lying.

Holy ****, I never knew about this :wow:

So Walker actually sued Billups... wow

not a fake quote but the word rivalry never came out of His mouth. These PAWNZZZZZZZZ should all be shot

KD really just complimenting Knicks fans. He gotta mention Nets culture cuz that’s the uniform he wears but son definitely knows which fanbase is fueling that energy he’s feeling. Too bad he’ll never be King of New York.

All these allegations are new to me too. Obviously no one condones that behavior, but it’s crazy how all of this comes out now when Billups already had multiple positions in the NBA

Same. ***** is weird. Like, the man been floated as a gm. Been a star. Finals mvp. On ESPN for yearsss after that. And this year is literally my first time hearing about it.

When he’s about to become a Head Coach. This resurfaces. **** is weird.

Right.

Also curious how Jason Kidd and his past transgressions aren't suddenly being thinkpieced right now...especially considering it's Cuban and the Mavs of all teams  :smh:
