Kyrie won’t be there for a while. Whenever he returns he’s the one that’s gonna have to fall In Line

We using steals and blocks to measure defensive talent? It’s 2021 not 2001 famb.

In today’s game, defensive effort should absolutely be measured. You got stars all over the place not doing anything on that side of the floor.

Real rap doe - dudes like Dan Gilbert were crying about CP3, a 33 y/o Kobe, YOLO Bynum and a 32 y/o MWP “ruining the competitive balance of the league”. That **** was egregious famb and you know it. It worked out in the last KD when you consider they ultimately got Lebby and AD but that was some Playa Haters Ball ****.

This is on the heels of the league damn near handing Pau to the Lakers a few years earlier for pennies on some Jerry west shenanigans :lol. And Bynum was ALL NBA then. MWP was still a good role player. 33 yo Kobe in 2011 was still one of the 5 best players in the league. And Chris Paul was too.

The idea that the league didn’t let Kobe “get his super teams” is just not true.

Yeah unless Brooklyn thinks Kyrie has gone off the deep end and they need Harden is gunna replace him I feel like

this trade is def a bad idea.

Nets already had a championship level offense.

They need a championship defense.

This trade maybe improves their offense marginally and totally destroys any chance of getting a championship level defense.

Maybe they can outscore everyone,

or maybe first year head coach and assistant Mike D'Antoni can figure out some novel defensive scheme

to hide the fact that neither Harden or Kyrie can get through a screen and Deandre Jordan is a immovable statue on defense.

seems unlikely to me.

With the way teams switch everything. You Need multiple guys who can get you a bucket in the half Court one on one

If that wasn’t the only, it was one of very few times the Comish stepped in and outright vetoed a trade.

Saying that Kobe wasn’t denied a super team is just stupid.

I still think that if that Cp trade hadn’t been vetoed Kobe wouldn’t have had to play all of those minutes leading up to the Achilles.
