🎾 OFFICIAL AGASSI RETRO THREAD 🎾

lol. Can I get a link or profile name where I can find these ignorant comments?

It is probably the guys who say things like I want the all black/white/grey Concords. :{

Lmao... Just go find the sneakernews thread on this shoe and you'll find out...not gonna blast them...

And there lies my problem... my sentimental-attachment to the Challenge Court/Agassi line (if it wasn't obvious before

).  The thing is, a lot of sneakerheads will see these as a good retro.  Look at a few of the sneaker blogs... I haven't seen one that has mentioned the inaccuracies of these.  As far as they're concerned, it's a "proper retro".  I wish they'd do a bit of homework and make it known to the masses that this retro just isn't good enough.

I guess the bright side is that ATC IV's used a similar outsole, hopefully they'll retro those AND get them right.

I don't even feel the desire to get these retros and thrash them around a tennis court.

Old heads like us are bogged down with wives, careers, kids, etc. So, we don't have the time to blog for free about retro kicks. Therefore, it's left to those who don't know to lead the masses. It's a shame.

The mystery to me is WHY? why do we see these hybrids and halfasd attempts when it comes to the Agassis? what is there to gain from a marketing/business perspective?
The only ones thats goin hard for these are the genuin heads out there , at least the ones thats still left... I really hope, once and for all, we'll see a true to form retro line I-IV .cause these are my last hope from this brand since the design and materials are goin in a complete new direction , a direction which is far from what i once fell in love with many yrs ago.

I know it's cheaper to cut corners, but like you said, this is a niche market retro. They should know which audiences are picky and which are not, and which shoes will have a wide enough appeal that the dolts will make the sticklers irrelevant. I'd really like to see Nike's market research department - they're messing up as much as anybody.

We're that niche-market!  How does it make any sense for them to not make a product that will appeal to their supposed target market?  I refuse to believe that they don't have or couldn't find an OG shoe where they could recreate the outsole.

Now just watch them use the ATC II outsole for the ATC IV.

Air Tech Challenge IIs are widely considered to be one of the best shoes ever. Fans of those is who will be buying this. Don't see how they even have an excuse for messing up. Not like it would cost that much extra

Funny thing is last time the lava's came out they sat at online stores for about 50 bucks. Now with newbie hypebeasts who think the yeezy's came first will be all over any future atc 2 release

Yep Finishline had Lava's chillin in clearance for $40, needless to say I got three pair. I still have a ds pair for a not so rainy day...

Yup I bought extra pairs as well. I remember them sitting at finishlime. Surprisingly the organge pair sold out faster. I'm guessing less pairs were made snce the lava's are a much more popular cw.

I like the pattern of Nike doing a US Open. Means an Australian Open next. Black leather looks good, simple. Hopefully they also release the ATC II Lava but even more so I really hope they re-release the clothing especially the matching lava gear. Agassi/Nike/ not only pushed the limits with the shoes but also the gear. Time to pay tribute to that.

I got a pair from Finishline too. Ended up returning them though because of the cheap plastic-like leather :{

The midsole on that US Open though :x

Ill cop those Air Tech Huaraches in 2014. OG colorway. Those and any other Andre retros that are soon to come to be released; will not sell out. The younger generation and mainstream sneaker heads overall will think these are just another decent Nike old school retro sneaker. They don't know. :{

EASIER COP FOR US THOUGH! :Nthat

It's crazy when the lavas retroed i was wearing a 10 and now they're hella tight i could really use a 10.5 and they would get rocked so much more. Im 26 by the way so i should've been good with my feet not growing anymore lol

They'd be wrong about that tho. They're not even decent they're a terribly executed hybrid version of a classic shoe.

The sole on the ATC's appear to be light blue and not purple then. I'm assuming they will sell these at the Open.

Passing - looks like the colorways try to match the color theme of the event, the sole matching the court.  Wimbledons were nice, Australians wouldn't be too different from the US Opens, but if they continue the trend through the French, I think those might be the most interesting colorway.  Ala Court Victory Pump French Open version??  I wouldn't mind some dirt graphics on the upper, but I'm sure they won't take their cues from Reebok.

For now, I'm settling with my hard plastic Lavas to look at and my buttery-soft leather original (and still very wearable) Challenge Futures to cover the comfort category.

...And still waiting for LWP retros...better not come with ATC 3/4 soles!

He wore the lava's at the French so who knows what they'll do for that.
