🎾 OFFICIAL AGASSI RETRO THREAD 🎾

They have the flame-pattern from the flame-pack in 2012 and the recent Glove retros... and the outsole from the current ATC-Huarache.

Surely that's a few items off the list!
HAHA, hopefully.

Speaking of the flame pattern.  Nike tennis tees have been weak for the past few years (excluding a few us open exclusives).  But this tee from the flame pack is one of my favs

If the ATC IV drops, there might be hope for an even better one.

Yeah I had to snag that Flame shirt a while back when I first saw it. One of the better ones from recent history.

I know, I've got the Vapors.  I still don't trust the sadists in charge of retros though.  They'll find a way to modify the ATC IV. Kind of like the shiny lava on the ATC2

Please just use the midsole from the ATC 3 retro a few years back. DO NOT use the midsole from the recent Huarache!

^ Actually just minor differences, mainly the extra "strip" at the toe, but I guess in this case for the IV, the III outsole should be better?

Other than the strip, it's exactly the same unit. They likely only took the strip off because the OG's didn't have it. I'd rather new III's or IV's not have the strip personally.

I'm not fussed really though. Just that we do get new III's, which are better than the last ones and especially IV's of some kind. They surely couldn't mess them up too much if they employ the same type of design as the '14 II's.

Just got my lava's , first glance they look like cheap fakes! Yikes fit is good quality thumbs Down
I don't understand people ripping these '14 Lavas.  Very happy with my pair quality and shape wise.

They certainly don't look like cheap fakes to me rofl.

The retro Huarache uses the same "design" midsole but the material and mold of the midsole are completely different than the ATC3 that retro'd years earlier. Check out the pictures. Completely different mold with the air pocket and surrounding areas of the midsole. Its complete crap. The shape of the retro ATC3 midsole is much better and closer to the OG. It even appears to have a larger air bag than the Huarache. This is why I say they better not butcher a new retro ATC3 or ATC4 in the coming years. Use the midsole from the previous retro ATC3!!!!

Nike have reduced the size of air bubbles on retro models for some time now. Air Max BW now have the same size bubbles as Air Max '87's, which is probably why they call them Air Max Classic now.

I bet any new III's or IV's will use the same sole unit as the Hua's. Nike love to mess around with things.

The Hua's are made in Vietnam though.

Thats just it, why would they go to the expense of creating a new mold that looks like a poor attempt at the OG and retro molds? Maybe its to better fit the huarache upper??? I cant get over the waviness of the lines around the air bag. Looks like a cheap knockoff.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm quite sure the OG was the only Huarache model with visible air. The series is not associated with visible air, so I always wondered why the OG had it.

Perhaps Nike shrunk the unit on the Hua's to match up with the OG, which also had a smaller air unit compared to the II, III and IV before it.

They might still go back to the larger unit if they re-retro the III's and retro the IV's because of that.

Good point. It was a smaller pocket on the original Huarache as well. The next Huarache shoe of his was the Challenge Future which had the sole that was used on the Flares after that. Both Future and Flare had vis air as well.

I'm not sure where I read this, but apparently Nike Air bags are smaller nowadays because they fill them with nitrogen which is smaller than the original gas used. I dunno what the original units used, but apparently they called for bigger Air units. Not sure how true this is.

My pair doesn't look so great. The pink sections with the splatter wasn't glued low enough and ends before it meets the sole.

If you consider the Dynamic Flight a huarache model, those had vis air (and a very firm midsole)
