damn im the youngest now lmao , but yeah as far as taylor goes, taylor is a good boxer some one said this he just needs a new trainer i agree with this hesshot without new trainer but his strength trainer is good so just drop head trainer and he needs more head move ment , had he had stewart for that fight hewoulda won, he won the first 4 AA just wasnt doing enough , no body punching either taylor needs stewart

Still haven't seen Ward/Kessler in its entirety, only a few rounds on Youtube.

Gotta give props to Ward, didn't think he could pull it off.

He still holds too much for my liking. The headbutting wasn't as bad as what Tim Bradley does, but it was an effective weapon for Ward.

Taylor fights with zero swag nowadays. If he gets KO'ed by Ward, he seriously needs to quit.

On the Kessler thing. Never thought he was all that. Very basic. Extremely overrated. His only notable fight was against Joe Calzaghe (IMO) and got handled. Imjust sayin. BTW! Im rooting for Ward in this tourney.

According to promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank, former champion Miguel Cotto may return in his favorite position - headlining a June event on the eve of the Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York. Arum plans to meet with Cotto and his team in the near future to discuss the plans for 2010. First, Cotto needs to recover from the beating he took against Manny Pacquiao on November 14.

"First, Miguel needs a long period of rest, so forget boxing for a while. Then we will sit down to talk about some possible opponents, but the idea is for him to fight again in the summer," Arum told Primera Hora .

Arum would love to put together an event with Cotto in the new Yankee Stadium but obviously Madison Square Garden is a frontrunner to host the card. Juan Manuel Lopez is a possible co-feature to Cotto's comeback if the event lands in Yankee Stadium.

"If we reach an agreement to make the event at Yankee Stadium, it would be ideal to have Miguel with Juan Manuel "Juanma "Lopez on the same card. We would need both of them to fill the place. But if it's at Madison Square Garden, then it would only be Miguel," Arum said

As boxing promoters Bob Arum and Richard Schaefer have begun the process of hammering out a deal for a 2010 showdown between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and MannyPacquiao, officials in Las Vegas are scrambling to keep the fight on the Strip.

Las Vegas has been hit harder than most cities by the recession and, with 13 percent unemployment, is in need of major events to bolster tourism and invigorateits economy. A potential Pacquiao-Mayweather bout would likely be the largest-grossing boxing match in history. Predictions for the pay-per-view sales alonehave reached as high as 5 million.

Pacquiao is the top-ranked fighter in Yahoo! Sports' ratings of the world's best boxers with Mayweather sitting at No. 2. They're each in theirprime - Pacquiao is 30 and Mayweather is 31 - and each fights at welterweight.

Pacquiao, who is 50-3-2 with 38 knockouts and holds the World Boxing Organization welterweight title, has been named the Fighter of the Year by the BoxingWriters Association of America in 2006 and 2008 and is almost certain to win it in 2009. Mayweather, who is 40-0 with 25 knockouts, was the BWAA's Fighterof the Year in 2007.

Arum, who promotes Pacquiao, and Schaefer, on behalf of Mayweather, met in Las Vegas on Monday and agreed not to speak to the media.

"We're under a gag order until this gets done," Arum said Tuesday prior to a news conference at the Las Vegas Hilton to announce a middleweightchampionship bout between Kelly Pavlik and Miguel Espino.

Schaefer declined to speak about any aspect of the Mayweather-Pacquiao talks. But powerful Las Vegas political consultant Sig Rogich is leading a group that isexploring the possibility of erecting a 30,000-seat outdoor stadium on a Las Vegas Boulevard site once occupied by the New Frontier Hotel.

The majority of the most lucrative boxing matches in the past 15 years have been held in Las Vegas either at the MGM Grand Garden Arena or the Mandalay BayEvents Center, both of which are owned by MGM Mirage. Officials of MGM Mirage would be interested in the fight and would likely be the frontrunner to land itfor the MGM Grand if the bout is made.

Rogich, who worked in the George H.W. Bush administration, said Las Vegas officials are discussing a plan with El-Ad Properties, which purchased the NewFrontier Hotel and the 36 acres of Strip-front property it sits on for $1.2 billion from Phil Ruffin in 2007, to have the site serve as the location for thelucrative fight. The plan would be to have the fight sponsored by the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority, with a consortium of Las Vegas casinoscontributing money toward the cost.

Though Las Vegas has landed the majority of the major boxing shows in recent years, interest from venues outside Las Vegas in acquiring a Mayweather-Pacquiaomegafight is very high. Arum has received inquiries from many venues, including New Orleans, and Democratic political strategist James Carville has phoned Arumabout trying to broker a deal to bring the fight to the Superdome in New Orleans.

One advantage Las Vegas officials will have in landing the bout is that Mayweather resides in the city and Pacquiao has fought his last six fights, and nine ofhis last 12, there.

"We're aware of the interest from all over the country for this bout and our goal is simply to keep it here in Las Vegas," said Rogich, who wasonce the chairman of the Nevada State Athletic Commission. "We're just exploring the possibility of doing something [at the New Frontier site].

"We've reached out to the owners of the property to see if we can do something that makes economic sense. This is such a big fight and we are doingall we can to keep it in Las Vegas amid competition from many other places."

because of the tax thing its going to be hard for to fighters that need money pac and floyd to want it else where

if vegas puts a bigger arena then it will be there

First off Happy Thanksgiving to all the boxing folk.

WBO/WBC middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik makes his return on December 19 in his hometown of Youngstown, Ohio. Pavlik defends his title against heavy underdog Miguel Espino. Finally recovered from a staph infection on his left hand, Pavlik is taking his return very seriously and moved the training from camp Youngstown to Las Vegas.

"There were a lot of distractions at home, over the simplest things. It could be the price of tickets. People calling up and saying 'the price of tickets are too high, too expensive, we don't want to spend that amount of money on them. Team Pavlik's fault for this or that.' There were little distractions. We came out here to clear our head and focus on what we have and about a week and a half before the fight we'll head back to get used to the climate," Pavlik said to BoxingScene.com's Ryan Burton.

"[After Espino] I want to fight the best, hopefully get the winner of Williams and Martinez. Right now that's the biggest fight out there."

Pavlik was scheduled to face Paul Williams on October 3 and December 5. He withdrew from both dates due to the staph infection. He was forced to return to action a few weeks early when the WBO/WBC threatened to strip him of the titles. Pavlik tells BoxingScene that he is not ducking Williams and wants to fight the winner of Williams-Sergio Martinez next.

"First of all, what people in boxing have to understand - when I fought Bernard Hopkins, I was suppossed to fight Paul Williams and Paul Williams pulled out. If anyone wants to check with any of the promoters, we were in talks to fight Paul Williams. Paul Williams didn't take the fight so we went up two weight classes, not one but two weight classes to fight Bernard Hopkins. Why would I duck Paul Williams to fight Bernard Hopkins at light heavyweight? Hopkins, one of the most craftiest fighters in the sport, ever," Pavlik said.

"Because of the injury, we were looking to push the fight back three weeks or another month and they didn't want to hear it. The reason we are fighting two weeks after, on the 19th, is because the organizations came down and said I had to fight or they were going to strip me of my titles. I wouldn't be fighting until the end of January if it wasn't for that. They can say what they want. Williams knows that I wanted to fight him but he wants to keep that whole 'I'm the most feared fighter' thing going."

HBOs stable is crazy right now.

Would love to see that happen.

And Vegas is taking a little life from the sport. They need to get these big fights spread across the nation at bigger venues, like they used to do back in the80's.

Let other regions get some excitement and get a marquee venue to create a different angle for the promotion.

Either way MM/Pac is going to break records but it would be nice to see it in a football or baseball stadium.

Jr. Welterweights?

Winner of Bradley/Peterson, Holt, Khan, Alexander, Urango and Maidana?

Sounds like a good plan to me.

Just keep Ortiz out of there.
