I'm convinced it's not fake. From what I can see, he was shooting the gun in the air, singing, then laid the gun down on the table, kept singing, andthe kid picked the gun up. You can see as he's singing that people are looking at the kid, hesitant to sing along with the guy, worried that 'this willnot end well.'

As for the kid, I'm concerned with how the gun appears to clock him square in his face. Watch it again.
