Maybe when Pringles comes in to coach your fav team for several 82 game seasons and possibly playoffs you'll get to see in depth what he's good and terrible at and that it's much more than having the team shoot a lot of 3s and not play good enough defense.
Who are you talking about here?

I don't know if you realize this, but I watched almost every game Dantoni coached on the Knicks (I'm a NYer).  I'm aware of the type of job he did there.

I'd sure as hell rather watch that team moving the ball and playing average defense while going .500 than this boring-*** iso team holding the ball and playing average defense while going .321.

So are you defending _'Antoni because of how bad the Knicks are, and it makes what he was doing in NY look better than what's going on now?

Or are you truly defending him because, on his own merit, you think he's a quality coach?

I think he has weaknesses but the specific criticisms are wrong.

-I appreciate him for helping to revolutionize the game.

-I don't think people realize how influential he's been for the league.

-I think those Suns squads were some of the legitimately great non-Championship winning teams of the recent era.

-People saying he's a terrible defensive coach comes in large part from the "PPG given up stat", which is totally meaningless when you have more average possessions than the rest of the league by a significant margin.

-I think he's inflexible and doesn't tailor his style to his rosters.  If he can't make it fit he won't be able to use a player effectively.

-I think in the right situation he's absolutely a quality coach.  In the wrong situation, well....  We saw last year.

I've never understood why people use points per game against when points per 100 possessions is available.

I think that 'not tailoring' part... whether it be because of stubbornness or genuine incompetence in this area... is what gets me the most.

There's no way I can call a coach a good coach after the pieces we had last year and the year going down the way it did. I know about the injuries; that's my squad. But we were an absolute laughing stock.

But then on the flip side, virtually all those big names are gone/invisible on the season overall... and we're having roughly the same 'just under .500' season, with a bunch of unknowns, so that would have to be to his credit.

My opinion is still undecided; the jury in my head is still deliberating. But the odds are definitely stacked against him, for me anyways. *shrug*

When did I say the Knicks are golden? Can you find those posts or is it that in your twisted mind does saying the Knicks are not stuck in hell mean they're golden?

You sound dumber than I imagined you to be. Are you reading somebody else's posts about the Knicks and thinking they're my opinion or something?

I don't think I should bother replying to you if you'll just continue with assumptions and putting words in my mouth.
Damn dude, I think being wrong got you really heated.  Chill with the insults.

:lol Now this is about who was wrong and right

Just try to gracefully bow out fam.

When all those players come off the books 2-3 years from now, big name FAs gonna come play with THJR?
:rollin

Two things; 1) I wouldn't be that mad if just Melo resigned (JR's contract is easily moveable) and 2) if they all left it's not unthinkable that some star player would try to do what STAT did. He basically came here and reinvigorated the franchise single handedly before reality set back in. So another player could take their try at it, posibly if they planned it with some other friends that happen to be stars or all-star caliber. Others dismiss it but I'll always bank on this being NYC and the added fact that despite our owners failures he is willing to spend a lot of money to make the team better (so that he can make more money).

Blazer fans - are you expecting Batum or Mathews to guard CP tonight? Or will they start with Lillard on him. I figure he's going to see a lot of taller, longer defenders throughout the night.

not a blazers fan, but i'd imagine they'd switch all 3 onto him at some points throughout the night.

"After a league review of the Clippers-Warriors game, we have come to the conclusion that Blake Griffin should not have been ejected from the game," NBA president of basketball operations Rod Thorn said in a statement Thursday. "A common foul should have been called on Griffin for initially attempting to dislodge the Warriors' Andrew Bogut and a technical foul should have been assessed to Bogut for grabbing Griffin by the shirt and wrestling with him."

Foul for attempting to dislodge the guy who was assessed a technical for not letting go? Lol what?

Technical foul on you for holding him, and a foul on you for trying to get him off of you! I thought the clippers get all the calls?

Not all the calls. That's two games in a row that a Clipper player has been ejected only for the league to come back and say the ejection was a mistake. Barnes' flagrant 2 against Minny was downgraded to a flagrant 1.
