If it wasn't for AI the league would've been in a horrible shape after Jordan retired. David Stern owe AI head

Just going to ignore Duncan, Shaq, Kobe and the lot eh. It's Iverson that David Stern owes sexual favors. OK

Duncan and Shaq were great players but no one wanted to be them. No one was rocking their shoes or jerseys.

AI had kids wearing sleeves, wearing his shoes. Mini AIs were every where.

When was the last time you heard someone say they wanted to be Tim D or Shaq? Exactly.

AI was box office.

The Boston and Miami situations were much different and IMO are viewed in history accurately. I fully agree with what you're saying in terms of taking lesser roles and performing in a lesser role, but I just fear that in the future LeBron will be looked at like "hey he had these two superstars in their primes". I just don't think that's the case but that doesn't at all mean that Bosh and Wade don't deserve credit for what they've contributed over the past 3 years.

It's not so much having a lesser view of Bosh and Wade as players, it's just the simple truth that they aren't these franchise guys anymore. Especially with Wade concerning his health.
Well clearly Bosh is not a superstar and Wade is not a superstar anymore.  But I do think Bosh is/was a franchise guy, and I'm not sure if it matters anymore whether Wade is at that level since he has more than enough to contribute to his ideal role—at least until this crippled season, and I bet he comes back with a vengeance in enough playoff games to push them over.

I do think LeBron played on the most talented team in the NBA each time he won and the first year he lost.  I think you are coming at it from a reasonable perspective, but I hate the way people twist themselves into knots with hypotheticals in these situations (#CP107)—now that LeBron won 2 championships with Bosh and Wade some people are saying "Well of COURSE he would have won it without Bosh and Wade, they aren't even that good".  It's like no dude, he didn't do that, and it doesn't work that way.

I wanted to be Tim Duncan. Started shooting all my shots off the backboard because of him.

When you said the league would be in horrible shape, you didn't specify you meant with the fans.

On that point, the NBA would have been just fine with or without the fake thug image that AI gave off. You really think that would have hurt the ratings and attendance that much?

NBA been corporate for a while

I think it was obvious as of late how much the Thunder need/miss Perkins when he isn't on the court. He missed those last few weeks and we struggled in ways that weren't evident before because we had that Big Body on the inside and to help against pick and roll. He's the prime example of a player whose contributions don't show up on the stat sheets at the end of the game. All the people (fans in OKC) that were saying trade him, he's slow, he cant shoot, etc prior to his injury, are now singing a different tune. We get our monies worth out of Perk for sure. His game isn't pretty, but he serves his purpose, He will be here, for sure. Caron Butler was the add that is looking like he can make a difference for us if we are fortunate enough to get to face the Heat in then Finals again.

No

Ummm.....yes. Only people saying Perkins should be gone are homers and people who get their advice from Sportscenters and Skip Bayless', instead of watching or having played a lock of ball ever above 7th grade.

Those A5 and A6 commercials used to go hard though.

"Trying to build a team, I'm the player you need."- AI

Took me a very long time to accept that it wasn't just lazy defense by MJ
Yep, and the marketing of the "oh snap, he just crossed him" And-1 type stuff was definitely AI inspired. Sad aspect of basketball tbh

Not blaming AI because I enjoyed watching his drives to the bucket
