Melo is just one of those players who won't win a chip in his career. Just face it. Nothing can save it.

if you guys want to move away from grit n grind might as well trade us marc for his brother
if you put pau on that roster they will be not playing any defense and knitting sweaters within a week

people thought the same about kevin garnett
put melo on a team where he is the second or third option and he has a great chance of winning a title
Paul Pierce is the best comparrison. Really similar career arcs, and similar play styles and criticisms at some points in their careers.Stop it.
Melo isn't a MVP in this league and never will be a MVP. Don't compare the 2. One plays defense and has all around game. Top 5 in his prime. Stop it. Defensive player of the year. 20+ 10+ in MIN. All NBA first team. Makes his teammates better. Doesn't jack up shots.
Stop it.
correct
then whats wrong with rose?
The difference between them is that KG never really wanted to be "The Man" in the first place. One of his biggest knocks in his heyday was that he deferred when the big lights came on.people thought the same about kevin garnett

Spre had a great year then too. Dont forget that. Troy hudson used to ball. Trenton hassell was a stopper. When KG had talent, he made it out the first round. You put the right pieces around a great player, then they most likely will deliver.the best teammate KG had before he came to boston was Wally SippinOnSizzurpiack. Cassell too.

That **** boils my blood manVP posted this in the Knicks thread:
I never even thought about that.

Melo is the exact opposite.
Only time I can see Melo willing accepting a secondary role is when he's in his 30s and his skills start diminishing.
at comparing Melo and KG, you must be insane

hey im just stating facts
maybe if you followed kevin garnett before he came to boston you could recognize that and stop letting the hate feel your head.
all around a prime KG was better but they both had the label of not being able to win a chip.
once kevin garnett came to boston the pressure of being the main man was gone thus creating the ego maniac who picks on white players known as present day KG
stick melo with two other stars that fit his game and he has every chance to win a title.
@ top 5 in his prime
you on one
well that means melo has to adjust his game plan and thinking.
chris bosh once said he wanted to be the man on his own team and got smart in the end and just joined wade and bron
and no, losing makes you change your thought process real quick
If Melo can play Pierce's role, with some pieces around him, I dont see why he can't compete for a championship.
Yeah Pierce is a good comparison. He really changed his attitude and style to become better, don't know if Melo will do that . Right now he's old Pierce.

i wish this wasn't trueIf you live in NY like I do, without the Knicks fan goggles, and you watch and read Melo in interviews and such, it becomes pretty clear that dude just doesn't have the mental capacity or interest to look at his game critically or change his approach.
Most recently he was out there saying he isn't being aggressive enough and is trying TOO HARD to get other players involved, and needs to get back to his game
