Hold up, what is the situation with the ACC's bowl tie-ins now? I thought the CFA got 1st pick after the BCS bowls were sorted out? If so, why would they choose Miami over Duke? Not like they're too excited about either teams fanbases travelling to ATL for the game. Does Duke have better home attendance than Miami at this point? Srs.
I just don't understand how it would be because of the ACC commish stepping in.

is this a real question?
You do realize the objective of these bowl games is to make money right?
You do realize they have to sell tickets to make money as well, right? Like Miami fans who don't even show up for home games when they're ranked would actually show up for the Chick-Fil-A Bowl. I'm not saying it's the only factor or that Duke fans would travel either but if the CFA's only options are Miami & Duke it's like choosing between throwing up incessantly or having explosive diarrhea. Correct me if I'm wrong but haven't bowls shied away from teams who don't travel well, some of it is also about bringing revenue to the bowl site.
I don't know that this is accurate but I'll answer part of my own question, here's Duke's "reported" home game attendance for 2013:
Aug 31, 2013 N.C. CENTRAL W 45-0 1-0 0-0 3:11 22521
Sep 14, 2013 GEORGIA TECH L 14-38 2-1 0-1 3:10 21267
Sep 21, 2013 PITTSBURGH L 55-58 2-2 0-2 3:37 22714
Sep 28, 2013 TROY W 38-31 3-2 0-2 3:21 30126
Oct 12, 2013 NAVY W 35-7 4-2 0-2 2:49 23749
Nov 09, 2013 N.C. STATE W 38-20 7-2 3-2 3:19 32010
Nov 16, 2013 #24 MIAMI W 48-30 8-2 4-2 3:35 30044
Are Miami's any higher? In terms of actual numbers. Srs.

? He made valid points and like he said, ya'll aren't gonna travel which means less tickets sold and not much revenue for the local businesses. It's bigger than "MIAMI" vs ______, it's about MONEY.Just Stop. To a bowl sponsor Miami vs _____ is a better matchup than Duke vs _____ regardless of home attendance #'s.Hold up, what is the situation with the ACC's bowl tie-ins now?
