I doubt they brought him in to recruit Florida, the reason he recruited SoFlo so heavily at Louisville was because he was familiar with the area and Kentucky isn't exactly a hotbed of talent. Texas, on the other hand, has an even bigger talent pool than Florida and UT is currently losing the recruiting battle within their own state, I would think the boosters/fans prefer to see their Longhorns win with local kids.

I knew he had the Florida ties and be took that to Louie.
I know TX is with A&M and Baylor and now the Tech with Kingsbury doing his thing ( not to mention OU / OKST / LSU ) I would've figured he'd go into FLA.

Exactly, UT sees itself as the premier institution/football program in the state and it irks the **** out of Longhorn faithful that they are losing top recruits to what they see as inferior schools. Charlie is a hell of a recruiter and one would think that part of the reason they brought him in is to combat these recent shifts and trends within Texas.
