The weight and pressure will be on the Pick, just like Randle. We‘ll see if this subliminal attempt to land a high pick makes sense. Regardless,.LA has no choice.

Every damn time bravelude posts.

dats true dough, team tank fans putting their farms up for sale on the foot screw dude n upcoming pick.

i asked before, but who da heck aside from Mitch does the scouting? if signing Young n Kelly n Sacre is a representation of Vision of talent, den this upcoming draft is nothing but auto pilot. ya dig? stick wit da marc spears draft.

cutting to the chase, the scouting team ain‘t proving themselves, so midas whale trade it for a homerun hitting team.

Bravelude you my guy and I've been spanking you in fantasy basketball, but I hope you're not srs rn

You do realize he hasn't gotten to play his own position this year, right?

Yesterday was his first real game at PF all season.

You can't grade a guy who's being forced to play out of position and say he's finished, let him go, etc.

He was good last year, because he got to play his actual position, this year he hasn't. As a bench PF, he could be useful, and last year showed as much, but he hasn't been allowed to develop cuz we have Boozer and Hill all up in our roster wasting his minutes.
No I'm judging him off his total body of work. I said he could be serviceable but not with any significance. I contribute last year to Mike D. Without Mike D he won't be much.

Scouting for the Lakers

Mitch
Jim
Ryan West (Jerry West’s son) (spent 7 years working for Memphis, his brother works for the Warriors)
Jesse Buss (Jerry Buss’s son)
Bill Bertka (working for the Lakers for 34 years now)
Larry Lewis (Assistant coach for player development)
Clay Moser (advanced Scout)

And there are others, that are referred to, but not named.

So please, shut up already that they haven't done their job in terms of drafting. Bynum, Farmar, Marc Gasol, Randle, Clarkson, Kelly, finding Ariza, Shannon Brown, Ed Davis,

Their issue has been LACK OF PICKS, not actually getting the picks right. Comprehend that, PLEASE.

Giving Kevin Love 100 million dollars is not going to fix anything, so please stop saying that's the move to make.

Okay.  Dont' gotta be upset mai main man.  But 'lacking' picks because they used them as tradable assets is a reflection that they don't wanna wait, they wanna swing for the fences.

If we come out of these 2 years with Towns, Randle and Clarkson, and they all grow to be what we hope for and expect?

These 2 years won't mean **** anymore. Same as the Smush years. Once Pau joined, all was forgotten. :hat

This too, shall pass.

Yeah but the thing is you and nobody else knows if those guys are going to turn into all stars or superstar players. Or they could be a bust, or just average role players.

The NBA draft and lottery pick players are a crap shoot.

Pau when he got traded to the Lakers was already an established legit allstar caliber player who's career only got better by playing with Kobe and better talent around him.

That's what I don't get about a bunch of NT'ers on this thread. A lot of people have this mindset where they assume and think by tanking and building through the draft that's automatically going to make the Lakers better and get us back to a championship contending team again.

But I woul love if we hired Nash to be an assistant coach for us. Hopefully when we get decent talent he can usurp Scott. I have a feeling he can be a good head coach

At least the oppressed and suppressed can finally speak up.  I think it's understandable, and we can all make cases about draft picks in the pasts who are now still stars in the league.  This is applicable in all sports.

But the truth is, LA never braced for this, and they have always been a franchise that 'brings in' established guys.  They would rather 'market' and 'pitch' for a FA, as opposed to 'invest' time into scouting and developing one.  This is what I'm getting at.  The idea that this 'franchise' doesn't 'draft' or 'develop', makes it that much harder, so simply TANKING and locking up an OBVIOUS pick from the TOP 3 talent pool makes 'OBVIOUS' common sense!!!!  The challenge increases when you need to draft prospects at the later rounds aka the 'hidden gems'.

It goes to strengthen the notion that this team NEEDS TO TANK, because they are 'unsure' who to draft if they fall out of the top 5 or 10.   I am not for it of course, and I don't get why people encourage it so much.  I understand though, given the talent pool and the time to refuel, you're better off drafting guys as opposed to signing dudes. I get it, but still, to have peeps here wishing LA tank every game makes no sense at all.

They play to win.

I don't know how well of a coach he'd be.  He surely needs to at least put in the time and work his way up.  He just doesn't seem to have those coaching or leadership aura on the sidelines.

Brave look at our franchises past ...we have never had a problem drafting in deep rounds. We are pretty good at assessing talent in drafts

You could say the same about Steve Kerr...he's doing pretty decent up there with the Warriors. Yes he has an mvp candidate and an amazing team but you still have to mobilize that talent and direct it. I think Nash could do it if he worked at it

You right, you right.....

Who needs the draft, I mean, EVERY, SINGLE, GOOD, *******, PLAYER, EVER, came from a draft, but let's worry about the failed picks. :lol :lol

I know, let's trade allllllllllllll our picks, for PROVEN talent like Dwight Howard and Steve Nash, that will surely work. Oh oh oh, and we can pay them ten times what we pay the draft picks.

Or we could sign free agents like Malone and Payton, CHAMPIONSHIP, cuz ya know, THAT never fails.......

Failure can be anywhere "oppressed". Difference is, it costs tons of money if Kevin Love fails here. For 4+ years.

It costs a few million per if Karl Towns does. And only 2-3 seasons if he's truly horrendous.

If they can teach the 46th pick how to play well in the NBA, I feel fairly safe they can teach the 3rd pick in the draft how to play well. But hey, I'm only goin off of 40+ years of Laker success at developing draft picks they've made, what do I really know?

:lol

What I don't get about a bunch of NT'ers is how they put words into other people's mouths, then proceed to bash them for the words they put into their mouths.
