Every player is trying to win a given game..

What I was saying is we played horrible enough to give all 4 of those games away, and still no matter we won.
False, this is true about the Lakers players.

You have no idea what you're talking about.... Show me one instance of a player purposely trying to lose a game.

You know what would happen to that player?

They'll do what you allow them to do man. If course we don't have influence over what happens but the people who do, mainly management and the coach do have the say in what happens directly.

To ensure we don't drop or if the top four we need to be in the top 3. There's a myriad of ways to do this that I won't rehash, but it's a combination of having the coach and management working in concert with each other. I don't even blame the players too much they are going to play keeping their own interests in mind. But the coach and management can limit or eliminate those options thereby successfully preserving the all important pick.

Yes Ellington, Lin, Boozer etc aren't all world players but they're still pros with experience that have proven to be capable players much more so than the young guys. They're not in the plans for us next year, they're only goal is to get their stock up and audition for other squads so why do you have them in the game when you're down double digits? Why not give Clarkson, Black, he'll even Sacre and Kelly those minutes to actually see what you have as you try and evaluate the pieces that actually hopefully will be here going forward. Them being younger and inexperienced likely would not lead to those same resIf the kids end up stealing a game finesabotaging our efforts. If the kids end up stealing a game fine there's at least something to draw from that going forward. But all these vets just eying the next payday, that's when it becomes asinine and useless.

Still *****ing and moaning. Yall ****** trippin. I'm out

Way to bold some **** out of context. Still playing Ellington and Wes right? People that won't be here next year right? At that point they hadn't sat down ANYONE.

Do you for one second think guys like Furkan Aldemir, Ish Smith, JaKarr Sampson, Henry Sims, Isiah Canaan, Glenn Robinson III, Hollis Thompson are trying to lose games and look bad?

When they are fighting on just making an NBA roster where the minimum payout is $493K, whereas a DLeague contract is $33K.

Jakarr Sampson isn't doing himself any favors with that hair. My man must lose some speed with that birds nest on his head

Got damn how many guys you expect them to bench. You really want them to ride out with six players. Get a grip dude, seriously. People that won't be here? Weren't you saying just yesterday they could re-sign ellington for cheap? I'm out for real this time :lol

Checking in and saw that this thread jumped which can't be a good sign and sure enough, the Lakers won at the buzzer?!?

Bittersweet.
But realistically,

It's a conundrum. We ask to develop youngstas....well...they developin.

On the "bright side", still in the 4 spot..2 wins behind orl...1 in the L column..1.5 up with 9 to play.

Pels@staples
Blazers@staples
Home and Home with clips

That's 4 Ls(in theory)

That'll leave 5 games left hopefully "up" on orl by 2 full games by that point(after the home and home).

That would mean.....even if Orlando went 0-for....We'd have to go 3-2 to pass......bottom line...ORLANDO NEEDS TO BEAT SOMEBODY SOON....daggnabbit.

What's sad...If this pick wasn't protected.....I wouldn't even be upset(hardly). CuZ u can possibly get winslow/kaminski at 6 or 7....That trade, man....why couldn't it have been top 10 protected.

At least Pelicans, Clippers 2x, Trail Blazers all have something to play for..

Then a back to back in Denver... Not even Kobe in his prime was winning that game.

i have always had terrible luck with lakers players in fantasy (i drafted randle), even though its the playoffs im taking one for the team and picking up clarkson

So orl and lal split season series....let's say orl and us finish at 22-60...what's the next tie breaker?

Or do they combine permutations and split down the middle?? And who gets the nod on the totem pole if neither wins a top 3??? Conference record?

They split the odds down the middle, plus one. And the plus one goes to the winner of a coin flip.

But the permutations are for top 3..does that also determine standings should neither get a top 3?

Say we tie with Orlando and win the coin flip.. Chance we get in Top 3 goes down, chance we lose pick goes up about 1-2%

Say we tie with Orlando and lose the coin flip... We are now 5th with 42.6% chance of losing pick. But with a .3% worse chance than Orlando who is now 4th in getting a Top 3 pick.
