with randle and a healthy kobe back we wont end up in a worse spot than last year in terms of team record, if the plan is to tank it would be to get as low as possible and try to luck our way into a top 3. not a risk they are going to take

Roster is about to be wiped. Kobe back but limited minutes.. Gasol gone. They need to gun for a top 5 pick. Chasing an 8th seed is foolish... Unless Kobe is going completely nuts at 30ppg with German transplant legs or something

im all for tanking and doing all that, but our team this past year consisted of no kobe and a bunch of no name rejects and we still ended up getting 7th (actually 6th) 

although it might be easier next year since the east tried really really hard to tank this past year and getting a top 5 pick does currently seem more likely than an 8th seed

@Mike_Bresnahan Lakers still trying to buy into the second round. Hoping for a pick in the 40s but might have to settle for something in the 50s.

JMM hasn't been considered a first rounder since his freshman year.

As I stated b4, a post presence could've been SIGNED. I complain from a stand point of watching teams DOMINATE us at the PG position.

Anything can be signed.

The Lakers need both a PG and a PF right now (and a 2, 3, and 5 ). Better to draft a good PF than someone who's not great at playing PG, but force him to play it anyway.

Most of the pro tank people wanted exum or smart, they did not want Randle but are accepting him because they have no choice.

That's why tanking is too much of a gamble imo , doesn't guarantee you'll get the player you want at all.

They're already trying to lay the blueprint to tank again next year too , I understand why I just don't agree with it.

He may not have been very many people's preference, doesn't mean they can't be happy. He's still a good player and a good asset.
