I can only hope this is true. The Knicks have 60 mil in salaries before re-signing Carmelo so they would have to do a S&T with the Lakers.Phil and the Knicks are reportedly targeting Pau...time to extract Bargnani from them.

Who said he's sitting out?Pau leaving + Kobe a year older and rusty + lottery pick sitting out + no coach = zero sum = just as bad, if not worse than last year. Top 5 pick is absolutely in play. Anyone thinking otherwise is a blind fanatic.
Considering we only have 5 players on our roster right now, I would say it is a little early to determine how good or bad we will be.Pau leaving + Kobe a year older and rusty + lottery pick sitting out + no coach = zero sum = just as bad, if not worse than last year. Top 5 pick is absolutely in play. Anyone thinking otherwise is a blind fanatic.

I'm broke BName your price chap
I read the other day if Melo leaves they should be eligible to do sign and trades. Or really close to.Said that like 3 days ago after the Knicks got Calderon. You can totally see Phil putting the pieces into place to go after Pau. Problem is they only have less than 4Mill to offer him. Lakers can at least double that.
Most Knicks fans wouldn't dare trade him. He's highly rated in New York circles, fairly or inflated.I'll take Tim Hardaway off the Knicks hands too

You ain't rushing back your first lottery pick in 18 years, especially if the team is going nowhere. Even if he's healthy, they'll intentionally slow play, since we'll be in tank mode.

Absolutely. But obviously this is contingent on not getting Melo, etc. This squad minus Pau (and Nash?) and without any big signings is going to be soooooCare to wager?
We have 30 mil in cap space and only 5 roster spots filled. Do you really think we wont make any big FA signings. Im not saying we will get Melo or Lebron, but we arent going to roll into next season with just Randle, Kobe, Nash, Sacre, and Marshall. At the very least we will sign a couple decent veterans and/or re-sign Pau.

The knicks probably can't trade away their next year first rounder can they? I would definitely take a filler + 1 rounder for Pau in a S&T.I read the other day if Melo leaves they should be eligible to do sign and trades. Or really close to.

Didn't we draft Bynum in the Lottery in 2005?
