What makes Blake better than the rest under him? srs question

Impact on the game. There's no other big in the league who can impact the game in as many was as BG can. I don't think anybody aside from Lebron and KD can do that like Blake can. He's at almost 25 a night, 10 boards a night, with 4 dimes a night on 52% shooting from the field. From his position, he's a fantastic playmaker, underrated ballhandler, and his defense is pretty solid. (His short arms won't allow for him to be a dynamo defender. But he's a solid position defender.)

Basically, a big does what he does, and is as durable and has as high of a motor as blake does, I believe that makes him better than everyone else not named KD or LBJ.

What about Kevin Love hes putting up similar numbers

i dont see blake being top 5. yeah his stats are great and people love to watch him. however with 2 minutes left in the game, down by 3, he wouldnt be who i want with the ball in their hands. i think thats what clarifies who is top 5 in the L. the players that will win you the game when you need it.

1) bron
2) kd
3) melo
4) cp3
5) westbrook

I love Kevin Love. After Steph Curry, he's probably my favorite player right now. However, as good as K Love is, his impact on winning has to account for something. BG's as well, which is ultimately why I put BG over K Love. Yeah Blake plays with a greater team, but the lack of success with K Love is a little dishearting, but not much though which is why I still have him so high.

This isn't fair. Blake has come a long way and is better than what many people think in the scenario you just posted. Thing is, with CP3 on your team you are going to go to him before blake down the stretch. That actually changed quite a bit last season, and I think that trend continues more and more this season.

Who the **** cares about the Knicks tho?
Lets not front like the Knicks aint the fav team to **** on in this thread from time to time. If it aint the Knicks yall want to talk about Melo :lol

Zyxzz be mentioning them randomly like he don't live in Detroit rooting for the Pistons :{

By the time the usual suspects read these pgs I'll bet they'll start posting emoticons and gifs too. Only a matter of time.

WHY IS MY NAME COMING OUT OF YOUR MOUTH? WHY?
Cuz I can.

Who you thought you were? You just some dude with the SN of a dead troll. As if what I said wasn't true. You showed up as expected :lol

Knicks suck, Pistons suck.

unlike Knick fans, i have no problem admitting that. we have more talent than you and we still suck. We have a chance to sneak in 8th this year but with Jennings and Smith... i doubt it unless we got on a nice streak near the end of the season and make a nice push.
C'mon be real. It's like you and one other guy on here that are Pistons fans anyway. You don't have the #s to even be "fanatical" let alone to be "delusional".

thats just my perspective. hes a REALLY good players throughout the game, but if i had 1 shot left to win the game, i wouldnt give blake the ball. in that scenario id even give jamal crawford the shot over BG. its the same way i feel about klove. great players. double double guy, but when it counts, i dont have the confidence in him to make the right play to win the game.

Yeah i see what your saying..i guess ill hold my judgement between those 2 until Love is a Cav.

I had the exact same stance as you. But man, Westbrook's ability to physically overhwhelm the opposing poing guard and team, is really amazing.

problem is

It's still about what you can consistently do, you saw it in that Spurs series, wild fluctuations in discipline, when he was locked in on D it felt like Tony Parker was doomed, then other times you would be jumpy and completely out of control and TP would exploit it.

Russell Westbrook like half the time is playing completely out of control, and then half the time he plays like a point gaurd.

Can Westbrook consistently be disciplined, instead of just trying to overwhelm the opponent through athleticism and force of will?

I said it before, but I'm taking Anthony Davis over ANYONE in the league not named Lebron or Durant.

See and this is why its hard not to argue for westbrook...its like what PG in the League can check him THATS THE DIFFERENCE NO ONE. You can say Parker is nice but ive seen Westbrook and CP lock him up ive yet to see a PG lock up Westbrook. 8o

I really feel like that's what the Clippers need to get over the hump

A veteran wing who can do good things other than pop 3s

Marion would be a good fit IMO

Clippers have what they need right now to get over the hump IMO. They play in the West though, so there's quite a few teams that have what it takes to get over the hump. Ultimately, I really do think it boils down to how great of a regular season you have because with the west being what it is, something like home court really can be (and last year was the difference)

Clippers down the stretch were in play for the 2nd and 1st seed in the conference..just imagine if they don't give a game away opening night to LAL or lose to Orlando or the Cavs, games that when they lose bites them in the butt in the end. I do know you have to factor in games like this in everyone's season, but it would be sweet if they didn't have those silly losses.

yup

but damn heat fans must be hurting still. went from talk of melo or lowry joining the big three to losing lebron.

because of that one bump in the lottery that the cavs get lebron is gone

Yea it's very interesting to say the least

Crazy how dominoes fall. Not only did the Cavs get blessed with the #1 but that #1 ushered in the return of Bron

No1 can convince me that strings don't get pulled behind the scenes

I don't think TP is better than Westbrook by any calculation.

Im talking about whats preventing him from being the the 3rd best player in th league and passing CP3 and even Curry on the PG list.

TP is a system guy.

Agreed Russ can lock down on D real well but he is jumpy and gambles a lot. But when he focuses on locking you up it's pretty entertaining to see

Yeah he is but CP cant check Westbrook which puts him over CP

The best PG in the league has been a circular augment and every year it's someone different.

I think CP3 has worn the crown for about 4 years now but it's time to give it up to Westbrook at this point.

He's younger, most athletic thing we've seen in this league in awhile, comes back from major injuries like it's nothin, can't be contained on offense OR defense.

But really the whole PG debate is really on what your team needs. It's all preference when discussing Parker/CP3/Curry etc...

I think we have the same stance. I'm saying CP is the better "point guard" in the traditional sense of what the position is about, but Westbrook is the overall impactful player because he's such a physical force. I was sold on that in a game between the Clippers and Thunder last season when Westbrook pretty much sealed the game for the Thunder by punking the entire Clippers team for a few offensive boards. There's only a handful of guys in the entire league that could do what he did there.
