I wouldn't argue that. I just think we are yet to see the best of Russ, and I don't think you can say the same about Paul..

I would argue for Westbrook (and not the team neccessarily) he's almost better off with Brooks because he lets him have free reign. I think coaching him up would be like neuturing what is so great (yet frustrating) about Westbrook. Think the Jeff Van Gundy-Steve Francis dynamic.

What I really like about Russ besides his physical advantages is that Russ is fearless. He and KD were the only guys who wasn't shook in the 2012 finals against the heat. He's never scared when he's on the court

I absolutely love AD and think that he'll make the leap this year or next, but y'all are comfortable crowning him now even though he hasn't played 70 games yet in one season yet in the league?

70 game thing is meh, they shut him down for games to be cautious. In a playoff race he woulda pushed thru. He may not be LeBron, but he ain't Greg Oden neither.

see westbrook on team USA with coach K.. a real coach would realize how to utilize both westbrook and Durant in more efficient ways (actually having more than a handful of plays might help)
in an ideal world you play both KD and westbrook 35 mins per game.. so that leaves about 13 mins that one or the other should be on the court, which is something brooks still hasn't properly done (manage the mins so one is always on the court)
then with having reggie Jackson, you should be able to get westbrook a decent amount of time off the ball where it isn't his responsibility to set up or initiate the offense
also a major issue with the thunder's offense and how it is perceived by the average fan, is the lack of movement.. look at how many times in the playoff the thunder came down on offense and just wasted time trying run down the clock.. or how long they spend trying get KD the ball.. then time starts running out and it falls onto westbrook to throw something up

This is because players like Durant and Westbrook are VERY ball dominant. How the Hell are you going to implement a motion offense when you have two guys who always wants the ball in their hands?
Obviously the Thunder are seen bringing the ball down and next thing you know there's 5 seconds left on the clock and you see either Westbrook or Durant chuck up a perimeter shot.
Westbrook was never known as a facilitator or someone who played off the ball. Neither was Durant. It makes sense why the Thunder struggle so much on offense during close games, especially in Playoff games. The'r execution is poor, but their athleticism and ability to make jump shots here and there masks a lot of their issues.

The kid that led his college team to a title as a freshman, was the #1 pick that the league gave to the Hornets after they nixed the CP3 deal, and put up a PER over 26 at the age of 21, in his second year, and is already one of thee best defensive players in the league, while still improving on Offense after already putting up 21-10 a night yet not even scratching the surface of where he's headed.

also severely hurts the offense when two players in the starting 5 were extremely limited offensely.. and 1 of those 2, is a big who cant catch the ball.. and both have to wind up for 20-30 seconds before they can go up with the ball

Shelly Sterling was proven to be just as much of a racist as Donald Sterling, yet after the sale to Ballmer she will have a sizeable presence with the organization. The whole ordeal was fishy from jump, but to me this just proves the NBA was trying to get Donald out of there by any means.

But the Pelicans are a very mediocre team.
I understand AD isn't some no name who came into the scene out of "no where". He has a history of notoriety and fame. What I'm trying to say is that, yes, his numbers are improving and he's shown great signs as a basketball player.
But his team only won 34 games last season. Last time I checked, you're only as good as your team. Isn't that the kind of slander Love had to deal with all these years? Or is AD not applicable for this? Until he gets his team playing better and puts up numbers consistently, I'm not sold he's a top 3 player in the NBA.
Maybe in 3-5 years this is more of a reasonable possibility.
