Overrated as an overall product, over hyped, short sighted, and a huge let down year after year; all things Carmelo and the Knicks have in common. .

In regards to Melo:

Anthony's financial decision-making is also affected by income tax rates, which vary widely by state and, as New York City residents know, municipality. SI.com and tax expert Robert Raiola have crunched the numbers for Anthony (whose projected contract amounts are provided by Spotrac.com). We break down how much he would likely earn, after taxes and the standard 4 percent agent commission, if he signed max deals with the Knicks, Bulls, Heat and Rockets.

Keep in mind, however, that Chicago and Houston would have to make multiple moves to sign Anthony to anything approaching a max contract, and Miami would face an even more difficult challenge. If those teams fail to create the space, Anthony would have to sign for even less than what is indicated below:

Holy ****. This is real? I knew the taxes would be high but never realized it was that ******* high :{

I think the Rockets could Get under the Cap easy actually.... They would have to let go of Parsons & trade Asik who is still relatively young and is on a one year deal.

Lin also could be traded to a team who wants some fan support and a solid PG/Backup in the last year of his deal.

With all this said even if they do get Melo they have Mchale as their coach they aren't getting close to a championship.

^ Of course it's real. I think the entertainer's tax is missing, but that's calculated in as well. You have to pay it for every city you play in.

I don't see Carmelo going to Houston. He doesn't like Dwight and why would he want to play with James Harden. He's terrible on defense and doesn't like playing in the playoffs.

I need to move where there is no state tax. F this City and state tax b

Paul George > Melo. I've been saying this and no one wanted to give me the benefit of the doubt.

If he goes to the Rockets, it'll be tough for them to come out IMO. He should stay in the eastern conference, so looks like Bulls or Heat would be best option.

Paul George was some **** for a good portion of the year. For all his warts, Melo had a better season and is a better player.

You gotta be ******* KIDDING me dude.

This thread houses the biggest collection of idiots and trolls on the internet. NBA "fans" will continue to have the reputation of being the least knowledgeable out of the 4 big sports in this country because of post like this.

You can tell how many of you watched less than 10 Knicks games last year.

PG is talented but nowhere near Carmelo right now. Maybe one day he will be but he's far from that player.

It's not a coincidence that NBA journalism right now is easily the worst in sports and the journalist themselves have no accountability for what they say or write. They are basically trolls who write articles based on "sources" who are almost always retreads from other "respected" journalist or themselves just making stuff up for clicks. If them or their sources are wrong what happens ? Nothing at all just another day in the world of NBA coverage. Those behaviors and non accountability has trickled it's way down to it's fans and allow them to comfortably boast their ridiculous emotional statements while in barbershops, chilling with friends, and ESPECIALLY messageboards like this one. It's comical at this point really, just take a look at the NHL thread, MLB , and NFL those are FILLED with insightful and knowledgeable post from all the regulars in there then take a look at this cesspool. I guess those posters that frequent those threads have no choice but to know what their talking about when the guys that break news and write columns are the likes of Adam Schefter, Buster Olney, Barry Melrose, etc. but hey at least the NBA has Chris Broussard and Stephen A giving us awesome, insightful, and unbiased journalism :hat
