I mean, if Rockets really wanna have an 8M dollar backup SF,

Can't believe Ariza would sign that contract knowing he'd be a backup. But weirder things have happened.

If Mavs strike out with CP, go all out and get Deng or Lance. Watch us get Lance on a more affordable deal than we offered Chandler.

Yeah, I don't get it either. At this point...matching Parsons would be redundant.

Guess we gotta see if Morey can pull off some magic again.

Dwight shouldn't have to apologize for that tweet.

The Israeli leaders and government are terrorists and murderers.

And them folks watching and clapping when they heard bombs hit smh but at the same time I think the US did the same thing when we first attacked Afghanistan

i feel bad for houston tho.

end up with ariza and might not match parsons when just the other day it was looking like they would be the major powerhouse coming out the west

oh well atleast they got rid of lin lol

the ariza signing doesn't have as much impact on matching parsons as people seem to think it does.

no, it keeps our options much more open if we do.

I could be mistaken but.... Unless Miami does a sign and trade with Cleveland they don't have bird rights on lebron (must not switch teams via free angency for 3 years) so they won't be able to go over the cap to resign him in a year or 2 correct? Or can they go over the cap to give him an extension while he's still under contract regardless of bird rights or not?
Bron will have early bird rights (2 years). Don't know why he has the option to opt out after next year.

i know most of yall look at twitter from time to time.

check this timeline: https://twitter.com/BimaThug

it probably best explains why we aren't as screwed as people might think. obviously there's still a lot of work to be done, but there's time to do it and we do have options.

i guess im the only one that wants to see miami succeed now that lebron abandoned them in a south beach dumpster lol

Never heard if early bird rights how does that work? How do you become eligible?

I was just looking it up online:

"Whereas the Bird exception requires a player to spend three seasons with his club without being waived or changing teams as a free agent, Early Bird rights are earned after just two such seasons. Virtually all of the same rules that apply to Bird rights apply to Early Bird rights, with the requirements condensed to two years rather than three. Players still see their Bird clocks restart by changing teams via free agency, being claimed in an expansion draft, or having their rights renounced.

The crucial difference between Bird rights and Early Bird rights involves limits on contract offers. While Bird players can receive maximum salary deals for up to five years, the Early Bird exception cannot be used to offer a max deal. The most a team can offer an Early Bird free agent is 175% of his previous salary or 104.5% of the league-average salary, whichever is greater. These offers are also capped at four years rather than five, and must be for at least two years."

It won't matter whether they have his bird rights or not, they'll only have Kyrie and Wiggins and Bennett if they decide to pick up his option under contract anyway, they're nowhere near the cap. As of right now only $16.6 mil committed to Kyrie right now in 2016, that changes a bit if they get Love, but they'll still have plenty of room to offer Bron a full max.

THANK YOU, HOUSTON!

For as good as Ariza was for us, he probably owes John Wall a good % of that contract. Dude FED off of open looks from the corner. Good luck getting those same chances w/ Pat Beverley passing you the rock :lol

Honestly, I'm glad the Wizards drew their line in the sand as far as what they were willing to pay Ariza. They used the #3 overall pick on Otto for a reason. Time to take the training wheels off and see what he can do.

1st game in Vegas today and he dropped 25. Only one game, but he looked like a much different player. He was out there showing a lot of confidence and he was everywhere on the floor.
