2014 NFL Draft Thread

I'm just a football fan but I guess your just some casual watcher since you feel like your team is in need of Manziel and Bridgewater.

I'm just playin with you. But just because I don't want my team to continue on with a guy that projects as a low level starter/solid backup as our starting quarterback doesn't mean I'm "just some casual watcher." We have players that need to win right now...Manziel and Teddy would be more prepared to do that next year as a rookie than Glennon in his second year IMO. Their potential is also at an extremely higher level than Glennon as well.

I don't see how Johnny Manziel is more prepared to play in a NFL offense in his rookie year than Mike Glennon is in his second.

Long term sure but rookie year i just don't see it.

Connor Shaw: Heard his name on a Vikings forum and wonder if he's a guy that turns out like McGloin to some extent. Unheralded but grinds his way through.

I see a poor man's Jon Kitna right now. If Kitna his his ceiling though, then that's actually not too bad.

Bro...I agree. :lol

I'm just throwing the name out there to get thoughts on the guy. I doubt the Vikings draft him as a franchise guy nor would I want them too. I think he's an interesting prospect though.

NFL Films senior producer Greg Cosell watches a lot of football film.

So when he says Sammy Watkins could be the best receiving prospect since A.J. Green and Julio Jones, it's something that will catch your attention.

Speaking on 104.5 FM in Nashville, Cosell touted Watkins' abilities as a receiver and how he'll translate into the professional game.

"There's no debate here," Cosell said. "I think Sammy Watkins, based on what I've seen, is the best wide receiver in this draft."

Cosell went on to say Watkins is the best since that 2010 draft when Green and Jones were taken in the first round.

Watkins is a different type of receiver than Green and Jones. He's just 6-1 and 205 pounds, compared to the tall frames the other two have. But Watkins is an explosive playmaker when he has the ball in his hands.

If Cosell's assertion pans out, there will be a team that's very happy with selecting Watkins.

:hat

So a better prospect than justin Blackmon and/or tavon austin?

The first WRs taken last two years

Connor shaw and the kid who filled in for him were both trash. Connor shaw is more athletic than you'd expect but he's significantly worse QB than Mcgloin and Mcgloin is also trash

Are y'all serious bout this Sammy Watkins talk better than tavon by miles as a prospect and Blackmon is an animal when on the field. Blackmon reminded scouts of andre johnson so i cant say hes a huge difference in prospect. Watkins has Mike Wallace speed but actually high points like true no 1s can. This kid is special there was never a doubt he was top 5

You know I was hoping the combo of quarterback thirst, Clowney, Mack, Barr killing the combine, the depth at WR this year and his off the field stuff last year would get him to drop.

If the quarterbacks put on a show and the pass rushers perform at the combine I still think get makes it to 7 but seeing Mike Williams low cap number I think the Bucs take him.

The film, the advanced metrics, everything says he's legit. He's literally flawless outside of being 6'1 but it ain't like that's short.
