The NBA rejected the Grizz intention to change the team name to the Memphis Express. Memphis is the home to FedEx. It was rejected on the grounds of having a sponsor's name as part of a team name.
I'm glad they rejected that.
Wow.
Collector earns a rep after all that BS he said earlier
Memphis or new Orleans should be the jazz..
when teams relocate and they have a name is extremely synonymous with the former location, they really need to change the team's name.. like the lakers

Don't get me wrong. Wizards is infinitely better then SeaDogs. That was one of the final names the team considered. Smh
Uhh, you're doing the same exact thing. Unless you're now willing to say with the benefit of hindsight that your stance on the other thing has changed. But something tells me you're not gonna admit that.
If your stance hasn't changed, you're just as much of a hypocrite as they are.
Nah the player that just won an MVP of some type and the chip should be considered the best, still consistent with that.
What would you even changevthe Lakers to? The Stars makes since but is boring as hell. There's no Kings in Sacramento just cows.
Old/Experienced Sailor - Harbor Seal - PirateI don't know what a SeaDog is. Must be some mythical creature.
Now if only they could stop banning GD and Dawks on Youtube. No Fun League.
NBA embraces the loudness of the millenial culture.

They switched to the Wizards in 1997. The DC snipers were in 2002.

It was because Abe Pollins son was gunned down. The reason was valid without argument. I just like Bullets better.
