Let’s start this story out stating that this story comes from a source inside the Michigan athletic department that has been feeding our company inside info on the Wolverines for 2+ years and has been very accurate on many things, but has also received poor info himself on several occasions, causing him to be wrong on some stories in the past (including a couple recruiting developments that went sideways.)

So, we have yet to be able to confirm this story from  a second source, but are still going to put it out there based on the long-standing credibility of our source:

Former Falcons and Seahawks coach, and current UCLA head football coach, Jim Mora Jr.  has authorized his agent to contact Michigan’s Athletic Director Jim Hackett on his behalf and express that Mora would accept the Michigan job on the spot if offered.

Where does this interest come from? Tough to say, but several we have spoken to on this news say that Mora likely sees Michigan as a A+ job that can compete for National Championships, while he sees UCLA as always being a distant second in his own city to UCLA and knows that he could become a coaching legend at Michigan.

Here’s the BIG news though: Our source tells us that Michigan has given Jim Harbaugh a deadline of next Friday December 12th to give a 100% yes that he will accept the Michigan coaching job (privately) or they will move forward and hire Mora.

Straight from our source: “This name will come out of nowhere but this is the guy that will likely be Michigan’s next football coach unless Jim verbally agrees behind the scenes in the next week.

“Jim Mora Jr. – judging on his results at UCLA, home run in my book.”
