2015 NY Knicks offseason thread, Los Almighty appreciation thread

I dont think Melo is struggling with the triangle. These are the same shots he's been taking his whole career. He's just missing them.

it's not about taking the "same" shots. It's more about movement on the floor and being comfortable at the same time. There is a reason his shot hasn't been falling. He's taking way too many tough shots out there, when the system is supposed to give him opportunities to take easier ones. The whole team seems to exclusively take tough shots. This is basically 2012-2013 all over again. The only difference is that we were taking 3's and every one had a green light to shoot back then :lol

I said this months ago, and some of you guys almost excommunicated me for being so "pessimistic" and "attention seeking". The Knicks look like a 32-36 win team. It would take a miracle for us to suddenly "figure out" the system and win 42-48 games as some were projecting.

melo is getting involved by passing more but when he gets the ball he takes bad shots and not within the offense... he looks to get his instead of letting the game come to him... and we know melo can be deadly in catch and shoot situations like the olympics or all star game which he needs to do more of

Exactly my point. He's not working with the system, especially when getting his own shots. The man is struggling with the offense. Whether we like it or not, this is the reality right now.

i think the problem is that the offense is so stagnant, that melo has a hard time getting into a rhythm.

yeah, the shots hes taking appear to be his usual, but it may not feel the same to him. if anyone has played basketball, youd that if you hesitate for even half a second, your shot wont fall.

but learning the triangle shouldnt be a reason to lose games... they still need to play defense, win the the 50/50 ball, stay out of foul trouble, less turnovers and fisher needs to have a set rotation so players know their role... i still think amare should come off the bench with jr and timmy... they need to start acy just for his defense alone

Ehhh its his fault for getting the ball, holding it, sizing up his opponent for 5 seconds, then making his move. He needs to react faster or dudes need to stop staring at him.

Just watch these videos. It's amazing to see that no one is doing anything particularly spectacular. The players are always in perpetual motion and acting on instinct instead of thought.

Steve Kerr or Derek Fisher isn't "running" an offense and the bigs aren't bailing anyone out either. So, there's no excuse for us to be crying for Jose and Bargs to come back and save the day. We should be fine with the players we have now.

Media not hounding melo over anything because the  knicks suck.

We win 2 or three straight here and we're fine.

i agree with you 100%. my problem is they will show effort for only spurts during games, instead of going at it for all 48 minutes. its like they start to break down and then just throw in the towel.

i only watched the first 4 minutes of the game and our first 3 possessions were TOs :{

i dont think calderon or bargs will be our saviors, but i think haven calderon back is a plus because hes the only real veteran pg we have. prigs is old, but hes not nearly the "floor general" as calderon is or as effective.

Yeah I don't think Melo is struggling with the triangle, he's just struggling. He's robbed us of a few critical posessions. Get it together b. We're clearly trying to run the Kobe/Phil part two modified triangle, but Melo is just not on his Melo ****.

Man this is all I want, a system where no one looks confused. If the shots don't fall, they don't fall, but everyone knows their spots. :{
