Once again, really like everything Phil has to say. I am confident that he is moving this team in the right direction

Just a random thought, but the fact that Phil made it clear he wanted Aldridge to play center for us and also the comments Zinger made after the draft about himself becoming a center eventually, makes me confident that Phish views him to be this team's center at least down the road.

Which is good, because I have made it very clear from day 1 that I think Zinger's real potential lies in being a rim protecting center as opposed to just being a stretch 4.

I mean, him developing a Dirk-like kind of game would be ******* awesome, obviously, but doing all of that while also being an athletic 7'3 rim protecting center would be something almost unforeseen in the NBA before. Being something like Dirk and Tyson combined into one man

If Zinger can come into his own, add some muscle (while not losing his athleticism), develop into a 2 BPG kind of center and we can stick an aging yet still effective Melo alongside him at the 4, that could definitely work... But fulfilling his potential obviously comes first and foremost before getting carried away

"All I can say is that I'm following the same script that Jerry followed after I left the Bulls. That is, basically clean house and look to rebuild around a top-notch draft pick. If you recall, Jerry had the first overall pick in 1999 and got Elton Brand, a good player but not a franchise player. I hope that I can do better."

@SBondyNYDN: Excited to be covering the Knicks next season after five seasons with the Nets. I'm predicting improvement for Phil Jackson's squad.

Another random thought:

Remember after the 2009 season when (25 year old) Nate averaged more than 17 PPG and (26 year old) David Lee averaged 16 and 12 (and led the NBA in double doubles, I believe), but they couldnt find any teams willing to spend on them in free agency, and the Knicks werent willing to give them long term deals because of 2010, so they each took the one year qualifying offers from the Knicks instead?

Just look at how much the free agency landscape has changed since then. Nate could have easily gotten at least a Shumpert-like deal, probably more, and Lee would have gotten the max if that would have happened this summer.

Off topic but what's a good bar and lounge/rooftop place that plays a variety of music and to host a group of friends?
