Understandable, personally not a fan of his decision-making with bullpen calls and lineup adjustments. I get the connection to hire Matty, his relationship with Rizzo in Arizona and how green Ripken would be for a first gig.

Clayton Kershaw is going to face like 900 batters this year, a Batter is going to make like 600 PA,
soooo, thats like saying you want 3 quarters instead of a 1 dollar bill becuase theres "more" of them.
It's very difficult for a pitcher to be the best player in a league, but its not because of the every day thing.

No one will ever convince me that a pitcher has equal or more overall impact than an everyday position player (generally speaking). That being said, I don't think it's impossible for a pitcher to deserve Most Valuable. But yes, really, really difficult.
