I wouldn't be so confident in Bryant resigning before '21, besides Jered Weaver, Boras clients usually don't sign contract extensions. I'm already prepared for the day Harper leaves for an insane contract.

He's coming. :hat

They are valued at 2B if they want to they can :D
And the Nats have the richest owner in baseball, but the type of money Harper is gonna demand will be outrageous and I don't think Old Man Lerner will be willing to give out another $200M+ contract :lol Especially since Harper hasn't fully lived up to the hype yet and hasn't proven he can stay healthy for a full year yet. Then again, I didn't think the Marlins would give Giancarlo $325M so anything can happen.

I knew 12 days wasn't the norm that a player had to stay in the minors to get that extra year of service time.

Bryant can come up sooner because he's not on the 40 man roster. If a player is on 40 man roster, they have to spend at least 20 days in the minors, and if they come up before that, it's like they've been up the whole time.

Nooooooooooo
Andrews confirmed the first opinion, MCL sprain. He says Rendon just needs to rest and let it heal. Thank the lord our starting rotation is so good, cause we're gonna need to win a bunch of low scoring games early on with Span, Rendon, and possibly Werth out.

Can't help but laugh at how stupid the people runnin their mouths are.

The MLB Players association, pissed about Bryant not being on the opening day roster.

Today is a bad day for baseball. We all know that if @KrisBryant_23 were a combination of the greatest Players to play our great game,(1/3)

and perhaps he will be before it's all said and done, the @Cubs still would have made the decision they made today. (2/3)

This decision, and other similar decisions made by clubs will be addressed in litigation, bargaining or both. (End)

Well, Major League Baseball responds.....

In accordance with long established practice under the Basic Agreement, a club has an unfettered right to determine which players are part of its opening-day roster. This issue was discussed extensively in bargaining in 2011, and the principle was not changed. We do not believe that it is appropriate for the players’ association to make the determination that Kris Bryant should be on the Cubs’ 25-man roster while another player, who, unlike Bryant, is a member of its bargaining unit, should be cut or sent to the minor leagues.

So dumb that holding a player back for 14 days = control for a year...just do away with these silly rules and stop holding the game back from seeing it's best players play

The answer to my question.
@CarrieMuskat: #Cubs say LF/CF bleachers will be ready May 11. RF bleachers ready by mid June at Wrigley Field

So, the first 15 games for LF/CF, which in April, it's fairly cold out there still and won't be as big a deal as if it was mid summer.

Once the ivy turns green, and the bleachers are complete tho, she'll be a beauty once again. :hat

The MLBPA basically came up with & agreed to that whole Super 2/team control **** and they have the balls to say it's bad for baseball :lol shut the **** up.

Will they actually have enough seats for the amount of bleacher tickets sold now?

No idea. They say that they will be ready for Sunday, what that means in terms of outfield seating, I have no idea. I don't even know what the fuss is about. They had a horrible winter, it set them back a few weeks, everyone has known it for a while. So they take a few extra weeks to get everything done, thee end.

I've been reading about people complaining the ivy will be patchy (who the **** cares? :lol ) and they should use the White Sox field for the entire year (WTF??????) I mean.... :rollin

Just people wanting to complain about something I guess. By the time school's out, the stadium will look great and everything will move forward. Then after the year they'll start on the underground work for the clubhouses and the bullpens will move under the bleachers, no more on the field bullpens at Wrigley.

I meant more in the future, once completed will the Cubs still 'oversell' the bleachers or will they be numbered and everyone gets a seat....wasn't sure if you knew either way

Gonna assume they stay the same. Haven't heard of any changes to the actually seating.
