Chris Carpenter out pitches C.J. Wilson tonight to take Game 1, Cards in 7.
Couple quick keys:

1) Most obvious is how Ron Washington and the Texas pitching staff decides to deal with Albert Pujols.

2) Yadier Molina's ability to limit the Rangers' stealing on the base paths. 

3) C.J. Wilson is basically auditioning for the New York Yankees after well-documented postseason struggles.

4) Texas' lineup is so balanced but it's plausible to believe home-field advantage will make some difference.

5) The pitching match-ups between Garcia, Lohse, and Jackson vs. Lewis, Holland, and Harrison. No one really knows what to expect in all honesty.

ESPNBoston.com that they initially asked for the Cubs young star shortstop Starlin Castro. Whey they were rebuffed, the Red Sox asked for arguably the Cubs best starting pitcher in Matt Garza.
A major league source told ESPNChicago.com that at one point Boston proposed that the Cubs take pitcher John Lackey's contract. Lackey has three seasons remaining on a five-year, $82.5 million contract. He was 12-12 with a 6.41 ERA in 28 starts for the Red Sox in 2011.

CP, you know that was just maneuvering on Boston's behalf for negotiation purposes. 
I foresee Garcia pitching well enough for the Cards to take Game 2. Josh Hamilton will be limited offensively again partially due to that nagging groin injury. Then Texas will probably take two out of three in Arlington.
