Nah... they've existed since the late 90s. Palmeiro, Pudge, Rusty Greer, John Wetland, MacLemore all were around in the 90s when they won the division.

Our stupid GM is alienating all the bandwagon fan base now with his dumb trades but the fans are still here. Attendance is still fairly high for a place that is hot as hell in the summer. Read somewhere that were in the top 3 for alcohol consumption tho lol

Mets got some good pitching and finally made some good moves this year and last year. They should make the post season.

if the mets get into the playoffs and get good situational hitting, winning a pennant is definitely possible with that staff.

I felt like that's what the Giants did to win their way to championships.

They did get lucky however each year,

2010 - Brook Conrad setting records of errors made in a Division Series.
2012 - Scott Rolen, a gold-glove winning 3rd baseman, bobbles a groundball to extend Game 3 and to give Giants life to win out the series.
2014 - Matt Williams takes out Jordan Zimmermann in Game 2 after walking Joe Panik. Zimmermann was DEALING, and ultimately lead to the 18-inning game.

Giants squeak by and somehow get it done.

yep that's the main reason I think it's possible with good situational hitting Royals too last year winning their pennant. Great pitching plus the right hitting is enough to make a run in the playoffs. no clue if our guys can be consistently good hitters in those spots though.

But they bug the hell out of me for basketball lol
