They don't want games going head to head, #becausebaseball.

:{

Good thing we didn't get the raw end and it's been prime time the entire time.

Still, ALDS got jobbed.

I don't see what the problem is :lol They're voluntarily taking a smaller rating share so people don't have to switch back and forth between them in primetime.

Which is good for the casual fan, not great for the fan that has been following the team all year.

Say the Dodgers got the Noon slot time... that's 2 days off work to attend/watch the game. As it is, I know a lot of people that didn't get the day off that had to take time off today to make it home in time to catch the first pitch.

Basically, they are catering to the casual fan, cause they know the loyal fan will adjust anyway. :lol

Wouldn't the casual fan just not watch, and it's not catering to them at all for that reason?

It's the least-watched time slot of them all no matter if you're a hardcore or casual fan. Why would this cater to the casual fan opposed to a hardcore fan? Because they wouldn't HAVE to take off because they don't have as big of a desire as you? That's your personal decision man, like your hands are tied. :lol You're prioritizing what's most important to you.

It's one series in the grand scheme of things that this will happen, and if you don't take off and your favorite team ends up moving on to the CS, there's a lot more baseball to play / taking a day (two, apparently :lol ) days off wouldn't be worth it.

If you don't take off - and they lose the series - then you were justified in not taking off and actually saved yourself the time.

They believe that the casual fan will not want to channel surf, when casual fans are already accustomed to it (#becausefootball).

Trust me, internally, odd start times are loathed for these playoff games. Sometimes you get lucky, like the Dodgers vs. Mets series. Other times you don't.

They don't want games competing for eyeballs :rolleyes

Lame as **** if you tell me, I think they should have the same start times as regular games. 6-7pm.

Oh. Trust!

Actually, they're accustomed to watching Red Zone. The whole reason Red Zone exists is because fans don't want to channel surf on their own, FYI.

Yeah, we know...

I love early games and if I lived out west I'd love them even more

I envy the fact that east coast has a first pitch at 10pm. :lol

My day is jam packed, and 9-10pm is when I get to unwind so it would be perfect.

Different strokes I guess.

For example, on Friday. I had to re-do my entire schedule, left work early, worked out earlier than normal just to catch the first pitch half an hour earlier than usual. 9:37pm, I would've been in heaven...

Not when you're in the office
that's what you get for working for another man.

:lol

I understand the west coast gripes, but Idk, I'm weird, I like early stuff. I usually stay up for west coast games anyway since I don't sleep much, but I think i'd rather just get everything done with earlier.
