Thinking about the sorry team that will pay Murphy a boatload to look nothing like this :lol

He'll hit, but he won't be like this.

Few days ago, Murphy admitted he isn't a home run guy. :lol He knew he's in zone right now.

Yeah, this is other level hitting.. but he's just not this consistent.

If their price is right, I can see him staying in New York.

Mets gonna pitch Familia til his arm falls off.

That's fine. He's a horse. His body was built to be a starting pitcher. He just transformed from a starting pitcher to a setup to a closer in less than two years.

After this game, we will have six rest day.

I doubt he stays now. But if they were to pay one of Cespedes/Murphy Id bet on Murphy.

I doubt Alderson would resign him. I suspect he wants a second round draft pick from Daniel Murphy which is a smart move for the Mets.

Dilson Herrera is very good. He will be more ready next season.

He's set himself up so nice. Hypothetically if the Mets win it all, Murphy can go for the contract and when he comes back to Citi Field he won't hear a single boo. He'll pull the heel/face persona better than Rock and Austin.

if the Mets were set on letting Murphy walk after game 162 than this stretch shouldn't change their mind. can't let emotions get in the way of making a tough long term decision.

Damn, I really feel Cubs fans.

If it weren't Mets, I'd root for them to win the World Series. I'd love to be a witness that they break their curse.

Familias pitch count has been low anyways and he has a big break from now till the ws

@mccoveychron: Daniel Murphy's OPS over these nine postseason games is 40 points higher than Barry Bonds over the entire 2004 season.

This just puts into perspective how ridiculous Barry Bonds was.

Yep, just because he's the cheaper option. Cespedes is gonna command a lot of money that the Wilpons will more than likely not want to pay.

I know what you mean. Flores and Herrera would probably play at 2B. I expect Gavin Cecchini to work hard and win his job at the SS position. To be honest, I don't feel good about Brandon Nimmo. I doubt he will be ready for the CF position next year. I don't want to see Lagares play at CF everyday. Cespedes can play at either LF or CF. His arm is a big weapon. I ain't worried about his struggle against lefty. We need at least one powerful hitter in our lineup.

I'd be totally glad if the Mets and Cespedes agree to a three year contract.
