I don't remember how he pitched earlier in his career, but have you noticed him changing his arm action at all? Trying to figure out how he added those few mph's.

His front shoulder leaks open which creates run on his fastball.

No idea where the extra velocity came from, but I wouldn't think uncommon to gain a few MPH just from the intensity of a playoff game.
