oh man....

"Bautista is a f---ing disgrace to the game," Goose Gossage told ESPN. "He's embarrassing to all the Latin players, whoever played before him. Throwing his bat and acting like a fool, like all those guys in Toronto. [Yoenis] Cespedes, same thing."

"It is a joke," Gossage said. "The game is becoming a freaking joke because of the nerds who are running it.

"I'll tell you what has happened, these guys played Rotisserie baseball at Harvard or wherever the f--- they went and they thought they figured the f---ing game out. They don't know s---.

"A bunch of f---ing nerds running the game. You can't slide into second base. You can't take out the f---ing catcher because [Buster] Posey was in the wrong position and they are going to change all the rules. You can't pitch inside anymore. I'd like to knock some of these f---ers on their *** and see how they would do against pitchers in the old days."

"Ryan Braun is a f---ing steroid user. He gets a standing ovation on Opening Day in Milwaukee. How do you explain that to your kid after throwing people under the bus and lying through his f---ing teeth? They don't have anyone passing the f---ing torch to these people.

"If I had acted like that, you don't go in that f---ing dugout. There are going to be 20 f---ing guys waiting for you."

I love Goose's comments about nerds ruining baseball. He's right, it's not just baseball. Some of these new stats over the last few years in sports or so ****** ridiculous. I don't **** with Charles Barkley but he's said it about basketball a few times too. These ****** nerds.

I actually like pretty much everything he said except for the latin players stuff. The Buster Posey rule is weak as **** and a dumb *** rule.

I wanna be a nerd for the league in their offices :o . Interview went really well yesterday. Mix of talking the position and personal convo, which is what you want from the person you are meeting with.

Even as a Giants fan, I was and am completely against the changing of the contact rule at home plate.  Its BS.  If Posey caught the ball, this wouldnt even have been an issue.  It would have been like any normal collision at home plate.  I hate when rules are changed because a superstar got hurt.

It isn't just baseball or basketball. It has even taken over hockey with people using ******** stats like Corsi to rate how effective a player has been. You know your stat is wrong when it rates Dan Girardi as an effective D-Man when I can see for myself he's anything but.

Stat nerds have ruined sports. They've created niches for themselves to get placement in an industry by over analyzing and making up **** then justifying with numbers that most people can't understand so they get a pass. Sports isn't a difficult thing to follow if you actually sit and watch.

The nerd revolution is just starting. With the info becoming available from tracking batted balls and pitched balls, it's going to be easier and easier to identify desirable players.

I feel as though baseball is the sport that benefits most from "nerd stats"...
It is. Nerds are a necessity in today's age.

exactly. Tons of valuable info becoming known.

The one thing that "nerd stats" can't account for is character though... And that's HUGE for any sport, but baseball the most IMO... Baseball is a sport you play basically every single day :lol... You're with you're team mates more than your family during the season... I always compare the 04/07 and '11 Red Sox... The '11 had TONS more talent, but they never, ever got it together and is one of the worst teams I've ever seen... The 04/07 teams, while having Manny/Papi, were mostly loaded with average to good players all having great years... The difference was the character and make up of the teams...

Little thing I always bring up... Remember Curt Leskanic?... He was a middle reliever on the 04 Sox... He blew his arm out in the post season and kept pitching through it because the team needed a guy to eat innings... He never pitched again after that post season... Every single player pm a team will take notice of that and it will rile them up... It'll make them want to do better because it's a family...

Unless you're Manny... Then you're just oblivious yo the world :lol...

Should?... Absolutely :lol...

Will?... For some teams :lol...

That '11 team :{... I've never seen a team as big of an abomination as that before :lol :{... It made no damn sense at how bad it was...

Watching the A's 30 Clubs in 30 Days segment. Their spring training facility looks so much nicer than their stadium :{
