Wade Davis didn't shut anything.

He left the door wide open, but the Astros still tried to squeeze through the doggy door and got stuck.

His velocity is down and he doesn't have any other pitches other than a fastball. Not a good look.

DeGrom will be 33 they'll either buy out two years of free agency or willingly let him walk. Harvey will be traded in the walk year.

This is still 3-5 years away from being an issue though so why trade anyone and ruin your biggest strength?

True. The Mets won't break this rotation up unless they need to.

Is their farm still set up nice? If so they could probably afford to trade prospects at this point in time for that elusive bat.

The farm has a few good hitters. Cecchini will be up at SS ideally, Nimmo in the OF, Dom Smith at 1B, Herrera at 2nd. I would't say there's anything premiere there though to make a huge move. The offense, albeit terrible right now, isn't my concern yet, it's the bullpen.

Depends on how much that elusive bat costs. Mets spent a bunch of money by their standards this off-season. Might not be able to make a deal like last summer.

I don't think they will. Prob will be just trading for 2 relievers and maybe a bench bat.
