Theo needs to eat a bunch of the contract and try to move Heyward to a team desperate for outfielders.  He is in a position where he has done so much good that he has built up enough faith that he can afford to own up to the massive mistake he made in signing him.  The Cubs will be so much better off moving Zobrist to right field so Schwarber can play left.   And then there is also Soler.   There simply isnt a spot on this team for Heyward.

:lol :lol :lol

Couldn't make it to the game cus of work but home now

Dodgers just playing solid baseball right now. Got us Cubs looking forward to tomorrow already.

If this result holds, two things that have yet to happen to both teams will happen: Dodgers will actually win a game by more than one run, and the Cubs will finally lose a game by more than one run.

Why Jansen is out there in the 9th, I don't know...

If the Dodgers do end up beating the Cubs, it shouldn't surprise anyone.

Kershaw and Hill are better than any starter the Cubs have, meaning they have the advantage in a minimum of 4 games.

****, this should be 3-0 right now if Joe Blanton didn't put baseballs in the cement mixer :lol

I really don't see what's so funny about that :lol

$180 million for a 1.6 war player this year. If he doesn't bounce back offensively, it's one of the worst deals in baseball history.

Because deals aren't for one year. Lester was a little rough last year and was tremendous this year. Judging deals off a single season is pretty dumb, and he is a huge key to our Def.

Zo in RF, Schwarber in LF is not sexy.

Kyle plays no matter for his bat, but 2 lesser defenders weakens a true strength.

And they pay half the roster peanuts, one overpay means NOTHING. Less than nothing. They got plus value from Fowler, KB, Rizz, Zo Addy, Contreras, Baez, and the whole staff minus Lester/Lackey.

His presence is fine. Just has to come back strong next year (along with Schwarber)

I agree, that's why I said if he doesn't step it up offensively.

Just curious if the Cubs will be stubborn with him and keep him in the lineup if he doesn't deserve to be just because of his contract.

Maddon has already sat him twice vs lefties, but Soler isn't hitting either. Joe will do what helps most, not go by contracts, you know that.
