Jon Heyman says Ellsbury & Yankees for 7 years
Johnny Damon won a ring with em thoughthey would
enjoy another red sox castoff
you know I like Jacoby a bit...but IDK about 7 years...especially joining Gardner and maybe Ichiro/Granderson...that lineup is going to be EXTREMELY susceptible to lefties...and most teams in the ALE have stud LOOGY's outta the pen.
8:41pm: Ellsbury's deal is worth $153MM over seven years, according to Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News (on Twitter). That tops Carl Crawford's deal by $12MM.

Ellsbury historically hits lefties well though, I thought. Unless we're using this past season as the baseline moving forward.
Regardless, that's a gross amount of years/money to be offering a guy on the wrong side of 30 with very little power.
