Hosmer is a low key MVP candidate, IMO.
Power wise I think he does. Other than that, it's a crap shoot to me. I just don't have that kinda faith in Hosmer I guess. But with the work Brett did with him, he looks better than he did. But I'd still be mildly shocked if he out produced someone like Mauer or Pujols this year.

I want Hosmer on par with Goldy (wishful), Freeman, and Rizzo. Salvaged the second half of '13.
I've tempered my expectations on Brett Lawrie.
Well he's already better than Rizzo. I think it'll be tough for him to crack the top 5 of CD, Goldy, Freeman, Votto & Edwin. He's gotta start making more adjustments to stop hitting so many grounders. I think that'll help him immensely. There's too much power untapped in that bat for him to be hit GB's 50% of the time.

I strongly dislike Encarnacion. No love for Prince?
Prince wasn't better than those guys last year IMO so I counted him out.
Didn't see the Lawrie mention. There's another guy that should learn to get more balls in the air. His contact has been much better but he still swings at too many dumb pitches. Needs to work on that. But the kid is going to be 24 coming in to this season, I'll cut him some slack

Yea but it wasn't like he's going from par the course to a huge spike you know? He was still hitting the ball on the ground too much and the walks were way too far an in between. Selectivity would go a long way to help him. Especially since it looks like he's regressed a bit on the base paths. And this is a kid I love I would be happy to see him be 30-20 and hit .300. That cocky bastard would drive people insane if he was meeting his expectations.
