So total path means complete darkness ? I was about 30-40 miles probably from total path if that's what y'all referring to ..
 
Question: How come you need glasses for a partial eclipse but not for a full eclipse? Does the sun peeking around the moon make the light brighter?
 
I was lucky enough to be in the path of totality. Words can't explain how cool of an experience it was. Hearing birds chirping and dogs barking like crazy. To see the corona and that sparkle after the moon passed. I'll be in Austin for sure in 2024 so get a second chance at a once in as lifetime event
 
2024 and 2045 -- total solar eclipse in the United States

so at least 3 times in our lifetimes unless you're planning to spend the next 5 years living reckless.
