if y'all think Lebron and KD gonna guard each other and that KD's presence is gonna make Lebron work extra hard, you dead wrong.
Draymond gonna guard Lebron. KD gonna face time Love.
Lebron gonna guard Dray. And CLE gonna throw the kitchen sink at KD and make KD prove that he greater than Lebron at the BIGGEST STAGE.
KD ain't ever seen anything like what he bout to see come June.
This is the luxury GSW has. They don't need Dray on the offenseive end. Every single bead of sweat dedicated to guarding LeBron and yet you still have killers on the offensive end, despite Dray.
You're absolutely right. Which is why the key for GSW is always going to be Klay and the role players.
But on the same token, Lebron has the ultimate edge - his presence allows everyone else on the team to play at a level they otherwise wouldn't reach without him. It's that "God-like" level only a few have ever reached.
Which means, unheralded guys like Smith, Shump, Thompson, Korver, Frye will turn into extremely productive players at moments of the game when GSW is taking them for granted. I've seen it happen time and time again during the Finals.
James Posey, Nate Robinson, PJ Brown, Rick Fox, Derek Fisher, Ron Harper, Randy Brown, Jud Buechler, Cedric Maxwell, Otis Thorpe, Robert Horry, Antoine Walker, Danny Green, Sam Cassell, Deshawn Stevenson, JJ Barea, Mike Miller, Kurt Rambis, Mychal Thompson, Bobby Jones, Luc Longley, Luke Walton, Trevor Ariza, Shannon Brown, Mario Chalmers. The list goes on and on.
Can McCaw, McGee, West, Livingston, Pachulia do it? As great as Curry, KD, Klay, and Dray are, in the Finals all of the matchups and details begin to matter. Those 4 players ain't gonna do it all by themselves.
