I know it's easy to look at the lions as a joke team but they do have some serious talent and it showed during stretches of the season.

I feel cooter deserves more praise than caldwell
We'll he got to the playoffs last year and JBC wasn't the coordinator *shrugs*. And it wasn't meant as a joke, Detroit literally made the playoffs once in the last 15 years before Caldwell came. Give that man some credit.
Caldwell is a decent coach, he's not bad but by no means is he a good one, I'd say he's average.

And while the lions did make the playoffs this season and were a good team, Caldwell's coaching inadequacies are the reason they folded late down the stretch.

There's no reason for them to be 9-4 with a 3 game lead on the division with the potential to lock up a top 2 seed in the playoffs with home field, to lose out and lay an egg in the wild card.

As a coach you have to win those tough games on the road, and you have to beat your rivals especially when the division is up for grabs..

Just my two cents.

The league is full of average coaches though. I believe the suggestion that he didn't deserve to have a coaching job was a bit much. Context and the history of what the team was before he got there matters. Stafford wasn't the same after his finger injury, plus they lost some key guys down the stretch that had been good for them. I'll never slander an AA coach getting opportunities in the league especially when they're so few and far in between and you got dudes like Jeff Fisher who's been robbing franchises for 20 seasons for being average.

Jim Caldwell is not a bad coach at all he's not a Super Bowl coach but we don't have Super Bowl Talent right now

Jesus Christ himself doesn't win more than 10 games with this years roster

I feel you on that.

They need more than enough pieces to compete, they got some work to do

Caldwell always looks like LT here when adversity hits, like he just wants to hide from the world

Umm

Ok

If Atlanta doesn't handle Seattle next week then the Falcons fraud narrative will continue. Seattle is ripe for the picking.

I hope Atlanta handles Seattle, after we handle GB and Dallas, I rather face off against Atlanta over Seattle....

The way I see it we have the toughest games and Patriots have the easiest, if we make it through there is no reason why we shouldn't blow the Patriots out in the SB
