The 2018 NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers got off to an unfortunate start. Just a few minutes into the game, Klay Thompson had to head to the locker room with a left lateral leg contusion, according to the ABC broadcast.

Thompson managed to return from the locker late in the first quarter and returned to the game to start the second quarter. Thankfully, it wasn't as bad for Thompson as it looked.

The Warriors updated Thompson's status on Friday, clarifying that the injury isn't near his knee, but rather, closer to his ankle. He was still able to play 45 minutes and scored 24 points in Golden State's victory.

"I'm just looking forward to getting 100 percent," Thompson said. "But I'm not missing Sunday."

The incident took place with a little over six minutes left in the first quarter, Steph Curry brought the ball up court and threw a hit ahead pass to Thompson along the sideline. As he did, J.R. Smith made a break on the ball to try and pick off the pass. He slipped, however, and came crashing into Thompson's legs.

Son stormed out of the interview but before leaving he grabbed his purse, stepped away from the table to reveal his suit shorts, and strutted to the exit.

Bruh this had me rollin .. i was already still laughing about the whole JR thing and the memes. Then I see bron get up mad put the shades on and grab the big *** purse and strut his way out in the shorts (nose turned up)

:rollin

The way he was holding his head looked like my auntie when she's fed up with our shenanigans. Took me all the way out.

Those guys being champs is like toine Walker and white chocolate having rings. Bron and Steph really be feeding the needy

Y’all just be saying anything. Toine & JDub contributed a lot to that 2006 Heat team

And even the Cavs don’t win Game 7 without those JR 3’s to stop the bleeding at the start of the 3rd quarter

this ole mouth breating, henny drinking, no basketball clue having *** moron

Funny how before the series there was conspiracies in here about the refs helping the Cavs keep it close and now it's the other way around

As horrible it feels to see LeBron lose after such an all-time legendary performance, at least there is a consolation prize of the blatant rig job as permanent and indisputable proof to debunk the hater claims that the league is out to help LeBron. This game will go down in history and forever serve as evidence.

I mean, LeBron/Cavs enter game 1 as the biggest finals underdogs since 2001. There is no excitement whatsoever about these finals for the casual fan. The league could've easily had Cavs win and make the series interesting in favor of the ratings etc. They didn't even need to ref in favor of the Cavs for them to win, they just needed to ref fairly. Yet in spite of all this, they still reffed in favor of the Warriors. That just shows how few dambs Silver and the league give about LeBron: They will even sacrifice ratings for it.

Lebron's great, he's just not the greatest. Yall bronsexuals want it to be one way and the other.
He's the greatest because he wins, except for when he doesnt. Then he's the greatest because he had a chance to win. Disgusting.

it's probably been done before but can someone find some type of graphic that shows what percentage of the game lebron has the ball in his possession when cavs are on offense?? with exception to fastbreaks, swear the only time we saw someone else not named lebron bring the ball up court and run offensive sets was when the game was well out of hand in over time.

I don't think the refs are even good enough to rig it on purpose one way or the other.

Their brains react like a ******* bird.

Trust me, I realize this. McGee had a solid stretch last nite as well. Still doesn't change their perception and what those guys were the majority of their careers

Thank you so kindly. Knowing for a fact that the game was blatantly rigged in favor of the Warriors helps with the loss indeed.

Crazy how Hills FTs got over looked by Highed Up JR someone check that man’s bag I’m sure there’s a couple blunts n a Henny bottle yo

Knowing for a fact that the NBA conspired to suspend draymond in 2016 helps with their finals' loss indeed. While the Cavs had the championship parade and it was JR whom was shirtless drinking henny all parade long, we all know that the Warriors were indeed the champions that year. Lebron might have the trophy on paper due to the refs/NBA, but the real champions from 2016 were the warriors. This year, in fact, is their attempt at going for a 4-peat.

am i doing this right?
