Probably because starting at 530 on the west coast is too early for people attending the game so they put it at 6 (which is not too late for people to watch it on the east coast).

And 830 on the east coast is fine since people on the west coast can watch from home at 530 (they don't need the extra 30 minutes since they are not going to the arena).
