Is it legal to push a pass catcher out of bounds to make them ineligible? Seems pretty weird to me

Nope. Can't be the first person to touch the ball. I guess because Russ was out of the pocket more contact is allowed. Richard Sherman used to do it all the time. But, I would assume you can't just shove a guy out of bounds, thus making him ineligible.
