Gates was more finesse than brawn like Gronk. He used his basketball background to be a lot shiftier with his movement unlike Gronk who just bulldozed over dudes when he was younger.

He didn't take as much of a beating as a result. It's like Emmitt smith who lasted forever and broke all the RB marks compared to AP who was a bruiser and had fell off towards the end and had a shorter peak.

Yup.

Gates played BBall so his footwork was on point and he knows how to fall etc.

Gronk been smashing beer cans on his dome since he was 12 so he never GAF.
