2020-21 NBA Offseason thread: Officially a wrap

And that’s the problem. They need to take a hard stance against these owners or else they never will get the same gains nba and mlb got. Will never understand why anyone would want to play for the nfl.

Every time their labor agreement is up or almost up they get walked all over. If they ever want to see any type of real long term gains, they’re going to have to be United and willing to miss regular season games and ride it out.

Maybe it’s harder to have unity amongst the players though to be on some United we stand, we’re going to ride **** out approach. There’s almost 1700 NFL players just off 53 man rosters for all 32 teams not including practice squad guys. Factor in how short the average NFL contract is and non guaranteed contracts.

I remember in 2011 when labor negotiations dragged out longer than usual that the players Union folded quick once those checks stopped coming in. Some players were borrowing money from other players. They’re going to have to find a way to hold things down so that players don’t get desperate the minute checks stop coming in if they ever want any type of real results.

Shield bigger than the players.

They wear helmets and aren't as visible as NBA players. They're replaceable. Teams rule. The "WFT" have ******* sucked for more than half my life and have the worst stadium in the NFL...and ****** will kill over the "WFT" here. Don't matter who's on the roster. Football is damn near a religion in certain regions. There will always be replacement players.

Clips lost Green and Harrell?

who are they gonna replace them with? They also have play making issues

The stories about Bron will reverberate throughout the league forever. The most important basketball player ever

Yup... Players have next to no agency and leverage.

Good question. Don’t know the answer.

They picked up a big from the Pistons in the trade for Kennard, but he’s not a guy who’s done much in the NBA previously.

They also still have Kabangele, who was a rookie last year. He’s got some outside range. And I’ve read one of the organization directives to the Ty Lue coaching regime is to put more effort into developing young players.

All that said, I’m hoping they add a vet back-up 4/5.

Think Joe Harris would’ve taken 4/80mm from the the Knicks?

Nvm. I didn’t know he’s 29.

Nuggets picked up Markus Howard undrafted on a 2 way. Wanted the Knicks to take a chance on him. Man couldn't defend an empty plastic bag but he wouldn't be the worst bench player in the league and we need all the help we can get.
